As this money raising exercise is to be spent on players to drive a promotion bid, I wonder what sort of player(s) you might get for £17.5M?
I still think he is a bunk striker. OK, he scored a few goals. But, lead us to the Prem? You're having a laugh.
I think people at the club need to get a bit of reality . We certainly don’t look like a team to get promoted but be delighted to be proved wrong .
People don't seem to like him mainly because he lacks pace in the middle of the park - but he's showing there that he doesn't need pace, he just needs more of the service he was getting in the video. He's the goal poacher we've lacked for a while, but I reckon VI slowly coached that ability out of him. Coach that ability back into him, get his team mates to give him the service and he may well "lead us to the Prem" - but leading us there is probably as far as he'd go. I don't think he's got what it takes to go any further.
There were signs towards the end of the season of his game improving. I'm hopeful of a 2nd season improvement
He certainly showed under Cleverly that the could hold the ball up and fight for the ball we need to concentration on his strengths and make allowances for his lack raw pace I remember Ross Jenkins was not very fast and looked like Bambi on ice, GT got the best out of him and he held his own in the top flight
Coach from Real Madrid coming ? https://x.com/MadridUniversal/status/1798806298068455870 Can he bring a few players over too ?!
No - seems true . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24371993.garrido-leaves-real-madrid-become-watford-coach/ Coach of their B team . Maybe we can get some young players from them ?
Well I guess we now know what the share issue was all about - his wages. Old habits must die hard for Gino - I'm not exactly sure that young European players are what we actually need. We've had a few who have turned out to be nothing special.
Alberto Garrido is an interesting appointment. Apparently he acted as a mentor to Zinedine Zidane, Guti and Raul when they were in charge of Real Madrid's 'B' team (Castillo Madrid). He is a fluent English speaker, but I am not sure about the reason that he wants to join Watford's coaching staff (presumably to mentor Tom Cleverley).
New contract for TDB? https://x.com/WD18Fans/status/1799126997978804286 Useful player when fit and in midfield.
