They’ve bought the lot now. Brooke/Stobart St units to be demolished this month iirc. Still no plans for any extra boozers or owt though as far as I’m aware.
There is a great article in todays Observer. Unfortunately it is in on on line paper and I can’t find an option to share the link. Anyone who can, please feel free to do so. It is too long to cut and paste.
That's a very good, positive article. There are lots of good things happening at the minute and the city almost has a 'rising like a Phoenix from the flames' feel to it. I was in Keel Square yesterday and there was hundreds of people in it for the Food and Drink festival. I'm surprised that the article didn't mention the metro extension plans and the importance of the Leamside Line in bringing more traffic into the city. It's massively important that there are good direct transfer routes into Sunderland from outside of the region. Currently, apart from London, people have to travel through Durham or Newcastle to get to us. That has to stop if we are going to realise our potential. Tourism is something we have to strive towards and the attractions of the beach and the film studios as well as local riverside and country walks should be promoted once it is easier to get to us.
A bet that sways in the wind, just a bit. The 1st 2 sections of the arch were delivered here 2 weeks ago, came during the night.
This is the night before the festival. Looks good, just got a couple of tickets. https://www.thefirestation.org.uk/w...ing-room/meet-the-brewer-vaux-tasting-evening
