Is Tosin actually any good? Didn’t pay much attention to him at Fulham. Or did Chelsea sign him to tick boxes and for financial reasons?
The thing with Adarabioyo I kept tripping up on is I always believed he was 23-24, when he's 26 and will turn 27 early next season In the case of Chelsea signing him, as they're well-stocked in the HG department it was likely to remain within FFP, as if they actually paid a fee for anyone this month they'd have to sell their stadium to themselves as well
We've got one thing to thank Chelsea for and it's showing the loophole around selling property and FPP.. A loophole the clubs voted to leave open on Thursday.
Bang average I’d say. My “good signing” post was more tongue in cheek to Munse’s **** comment, lol. I said many times throughout our links with Tosin that I didn’t really fancy the idea of him coming in, I guess as a freebie he’d have been worth picking up but he’s not a game changer and I’d take all three of our CBs over him any day. If we’re still in the market for a freebie CB, especially one to cover van de Ven and LB then Lloyd Kelly makes a lot of sense.
Vulture Watch As my brain is slowly getting past the jetlag and is working out which continent it resides on, albeit on a technicality as it is on Greenland right now, it's time to look at potential transfers from teams who are in not such a good position, and today I will start with those who were relegated form their respective top divisions Almeria Sergio Arribas (AM, Spain, 22yo, contracted until 2029) Bochum Kevin Stoger (CM, Austria, 30yo, contracted until June 2024) Takuma Asano (RW, Japan, 29yo, contracted until June 2024) Burnley Sander Berge (DM, 26yo, Norway, contracted until 2027) Jacob Bruun Larsen (LW, 25yo, Denmark...oh wait, he was on loan from Hoffenheim) Lawrence Vigouroux (GK, 30yo, Chile, contracted until 2026 - and would get the Club Grown numbers up...) Cadiz Moving on... Clermont Muhammed Cham (AM, Austria, 23yo, contracted until 2026) Maxime Gonalons (DM, France, 35yo, contracted until June 2024) Darmstadt Tim Starke (RW, Germany, 26yo...and on loan from Union Berlin) Excelsior Rotterdam Troy Parrott (CF, Ireland, 22yo...wait a minute) Lazaros Lamprou (LW, Greece, 26yo, contracted until June 2024) Couhaib Driouech (LW, Holland, 22yo, contracted until 2025) Frosinone Matias Soule (RW, potential international incident between Italy and Argentina, 21yo...and on loan from Juventus) Koln Timo Hubers (CB, Germany, 27yo, contracted until 2026) Jeff Chabot (CB, Germany, 26yo, contracted until 2026) Lorient Mohamed Bamba (CF, Ivory Coast, 22yo, contracted until 2026) Luton Town Alfie Doughty (LB/LW, England, 24yo, contracted until June 2024) Ross Barkley (CM, England, 30yo, contracted until June 2024 - and it wouldn't be a transfer window without being linked with him) Carlton Morris (CF, England, 28yo, contracted until June 2024...****ing hell Luton) Elijah Adebayo (CF, England, 26yo, contracted until...go ahead and guess) Andros Townsend (RW, England, 32yo, contracted until 2026(!) - would also help with the CG quota) Metz Georges Mikautadze (CF, Georgia, 23yo...and on loan from Ajax), Granada Myrto Uzini (LW, Albania, 29yo, contracted until 2026) Salernitana Jerome Boateng (CB, Germany, 35yo, contracted until June 2024) Guillermo Ochoa (GK, Mexico, 38yo, contracted until June 2024 (albeit with an option for another year)) Federico Fazio (CB, Argentina, 37yo, contracted until June 2024 - I mean he does know the club...) Sassuolo Domenico Berardi (RW, Italy, 29yo, contracted until 2027) Andrea Pinamonti (CF, Italy, 25yo, contracted until 2027) Kristian Thorstvedt (CM, Norway, 25yo, contracted until 2027, has literal Spurs DNA - and his sister might turn up to some games if we signed him...) Josh Doig (LB, Scotland, 22yo, contracted until 2028 - though in his youth days he went from Hearts to Hibs, so bad precedent there...) Jeremy Toljan (RB/LB, Germany, 29yo, contracted until 2025) Sheffield United Ben Brereton Diaz (CF, Chile, 25yo, contracted until June 2024) Gustavo Hamer (CM, Holland, 26yo, contracted until 2027) Jack Robinson (LB, England, 30yo, contracted until 2025) Vitesse Arnhem Marco van Ginkel (CM, Holland, 31yo, contracted until June 2024 - and has plenty of Premier League experience from Chelsea loaning him for years...) FC Volendam Bilal Aud-Chikh (RW, Holland, 26yo, contracted until 2025 - and a dead ringer for Till Lindemann out of Rammstein) Josh Flint (CB, England, 23yo, contracted until June 2024 - though if our need for HG players has us sign former Portsmouth youth players plucked from obscurity at Bognor Regis...) George Cox (LB, England, 26yo, contracted until 2025 - though if you need for HG players have us sign former Brighton youth players...)
Nightmare’s almost over in it. In 20 years time when we can laugh about it instead of get angry, you could have a great debate over which of the three was the worst, all have plenty of reasons to take the top spot.
Ndombele would walk it based on the money alone, given he remains our club record signing and was immediately one of the top wage earners at the club And that's before the rollcall of managers who gave up on trying to get something out of him - not just at Spurs, but also Napoli and Galatasaray Oh FFS, then I remember the whole breaking Lockdown regs with Aurier that one time...
Should have set a precedent years ago He gets 100% of his wages if he showed up to training with one chin He gets 50% of his wages if he showed up to training with two chins
Ndombele 10 goals in 91 games (spread over 3 different seasons) Lo Celso 11 goals in 108 games (spread over 4 different seasons) Horrific signings.
I used to do this to Sol Campbell on Championship Manager back in the day. The max you could dock a player's wages was 2 weeks but there was a glitch in that the number of times you could dock them was unlimited. He went two years without playing a game or earning a penny.
The saddest thing about Ndombele is that he has enough talent to be a balon d'or winner but his mentality totally sucks. Millions of kids around the world would give anything to have the opportunities life has given him, and he has wasted it all, simple as that. Quite sad.
