Just because I said I'd prefer Rosenior to Jansen. Put your beers down mate.

I think Jansen is an overall better fit because of his commitment to how academy teams do and his visibility at that level in a club. I get the sense he is a bit like Mowbray in that he will invest massively in personal relationships with players and give them every scrap of time and guidance he can. I want that sort of coach, along with an ability to get the ball on the deck and play.

Rosenior has time on his side, my predicition is he goes on to have a really good career. Like anybody, he will need a club to back him somewhere along the line.

 

As I posted the other day, both would appear great options for us, but I lean towards Rosenior for his championship knowledge.

Let's hope it's done and we can get some signings in nice and early

 

There's a couple of things nagging away in the back of my mind tbh.

Firstly Rosenior went back to manage a club he'd spent 5 years at so was probably quite comfortable and not, with respect to Hull City, a high pressure job with huge expectations ... Sunderland is different, especially after last season.

Also Jansen speaks at least two languages although I'd expect at least German as another, we need that imo. He's also worked in the UAE so coming to England wouldn't phase him in the slightest. Could I ever see Rosenior going to manage in Holland, not really ... and that says a lot for me.

I want someone bold and with courage, it's a pressure season for everyone at the club.

 

Tough job for any manager coming.. whoever ever it is, needs backing to the hilt from owners and fans.. only way any success will ever be achieved

 

I think if we don’t get Rosenior we will regret missing the opportunity.

 

Jansen wont be bothered about coming here. He lived here as a young un and has family here. He is half English anyway. No big leap on his part at all.

Rosenior went in to a club relegation threatened in November. Got them mid table and pushed them on significantly. I really doubt he would have wanted to be that ex player who took them down. There was pressure there in my opinion.

Rosenior is 39, and at the foothills of his career. Tbf Jansen didnt get his first shot at the main gig for many years, always in the background. You could argue he has proven little at AZ really, and fell into the main role. A bit like Still in that he hasnt really broken the ceiling at his club? Just one way of looking at it, like I say I like Jansen for things beyond the bare achievements. I am the same with Rosenior, I saw up close what he did at Derby and it was very good.

 

Equally Jansen will need to adjust his style to cope with this physical division. Rosenior is

slightly leaning towards Rosenior but be very happy with either hopefully it be all announced Monday or Tuesday then we all can look forward to the season

 

There's always pressure but you can't compare Hull City with Sunderland, they have half the crowds for a start.

He was always going to get a reaction and a good honeymoon period ...

... I just think Sunderland would be too big a club for him.

But that's sheer guesswork on my part.

I think Hull in the same division and coaching job at Derby before are a perfect stepping stone for us tbh

 

i wish the imminent announcement was more imminent...i am imminently closer to being not really that happy at all.

seriously, apart from the unforeseen problem with WS i have been happy enough with all of the front runners as it certainly looks like the club have looked hard and carefully at possibles, we can all say that 'A' would be better than 'B' or that 'C' would be safer but until the new lad is in place and the squad is sorted for the season we will never know, i will hold on till the first 10 games before i try to judge.

 

I work in Hull and the general census is that the football was dire and they were glad they got rid, if this gets announced can see it wiping a lot of fans out, me included, very Beale esq appointment and a smack of desperation.

I've not looked at either record tbh, so it's just a feeling.

Having said that I just clicked onto a recent Hull game, to look at stats, etc.

It was Stoke at home, at the end of March, and they needed a win ...

... they lost 2-0 and didn't have a shot on target.

It was a pressure game and he hasn't had many of those, like I say just a bad feeling.

For an owner to openly sack a manager, because his football was boring, there must be something in it.

It's usually 'mutual consent and we'd like to thank the manager for all his hard work'.

 

That’s mad because it’s so overwhelmingly the opposite when looking at their fans reaction to his sacking on social media

 

If you want a coach who has experience of coaching a team with 40k+ attendances then you are looking in a very very small pool.

Crowd size if a daft thing to use as a thing to judge pressure anyway, would much rather look at how the coach dealt with pressures from within the club in terms of expectations and just things going on at that club and with Hull and Derby he's dealt with a batshit crazy owner and a club just coming back from the brink with zero money to spend. He has more than enough experience and nous to do a good job here.

Wish we would talk about more relevant things like style of play, tactical intelligence, opinions of players who have played under them, track records of developing players, how do they look at youth and other more worthwhile things.
