I don't think anyone's convinced mate, just that he's very short odds and is available ... ... plus he's not Frank Lampard so there's a fair bit of wishful thinking
To be honest I don’t know any of the names mentioned. I just want whoever gets the job to get us promoted and established in the EPL. Not much of an ask is it?
Same here but I don't believe it's possible tbh. As last season showed it's easier to go up than stay up. And it's also true that a club's fortunes can go in cycles. Leicester won the league then couldn't stay up, Burnley were safe for years then went down, Southampton had a conveyor belt of young talent then went off the rails. We'll never challenge the top four so going up would mean staying up at best which means you won't see as many wins or goals. I'd settle for playing good football, seeing players like Amad and Ballard, with the odd promotion, Wembley appearance or cup run. Unless football changes radically, and the European Super League kicks off, we'll only ever be a club that avoids relegation. IMO all of the PL clubs, outside the top eight have reason to fear the drop in coming seasons ... ... none will ever win the league or even be runners up. Can't wait for next season though
In what way? He’s not particularly good at dribbling, isn’t quick enough to press, and barring the one goal from last season, doesn’t tend to shoot from range. Personally think Jobe is better as a 9, rather than 10. Target man, poaching, and getting on the end of crosses.
No cos Rosenior’s Ferrari has been spotted in Sunderland. Well OK, a picture of a Ferrari reg plate 76 LR has been seen going into the AOL by a bloke called Hungarian Mackem who was taking his dog for a walk. That's a long walk mind.
You know how obviously know more about Rosenior than me to make the comparison between him and Bruce. Pretty sure most would favour Rosenior over Bruce but I may be wrong.
The bloke is saying their number 10 plays as a second striker he ghosts in the box you won’t see him dribbling or assisting much or take long range shots. But works hard off the ball. That sounds perfect to me?
Does Jobe work hard off the ball? Maybe he was just tiring towards the end of the season and didn’t have the energy to do it much.
This is a match report from AZ's defeat v West Ham in the Conference League semi-final last year. Worth a read if you want to see how they matched up against a Premier League side. @AzAlkmaar mentions about how they played a lot of poor sides in Europe and explains their excellent overall record a bit. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...est-ham-europa-conference-league-match-report
I partly agree, but partly disagree too. Yes, Man City, Arsenal, maybe Liverpool, and maybe the skunks with their budget, are going to be dominating the PL for the foreseeable, but I don't think that makes it completely cut and dried. Leicester showed that it is possible for a surprise team to win the league. Man U are showing that it's possible to go the other way too. Villa in 4th. There's plenty to play for. I don't relish a return to getting beaten week after week and only having another great escape to look forwards to, but teams like Bournemouth have shown that there is hope of stabalising in the PL, at least for a while. I'm quite enjoying us being in the Championship, but let's not be there too long.
Fair point mate ... ... what I'm getting at is that I can't see Rosenior being anything more than another Bruce, Heckingbottom or Pulis. I can see him trundling around the Championship and ending up at Barnsley in L1 still spouting the same lines. I've had it with 'predictable', time to try something different imo.
