Give Ukraine all the tanks, missile, weapons they want... but never the nukes. I'd hate for Russia to win, but rather they win than nuclear warfare... Not worth letting that escalate.

Too late now, Milk"s just spent the past two hours digging an underground bunker in his back yard.

    I suspected as much.

That's OK... 2 Hours, I've only got a hole 6" deep and 1 ft across. I live on a hill that's solid granite with a few inches of gravelly clay- no chance I get to build an underground bunker... why do you think I'm opposed to nuclear war?

The good thing is, I would probably get to die in the nuclear winter rather than the bomb itself... I'm far enough out in the country that all but the largest bombs would not reach me if they landed on any of the major cities/military targets near me.

You've all seen simulators like this I guess:
    https://outrider.org/nuclear-weapon...land M16 0RA, United Kingdom&long=-2.29035275

Of course- they don't take into account wind speed/direction for where the fallout blows to.... fortunately that works in my favour too- there's a lot of nothing to the West of me which is the direction the wind normally comes from.

A true fan would live in the nuclear fallout range of their team's stadium. :bandit:

It depends on the size of the bomb though, that's with the second largest on that website... Try the Russian Tsar bomb... bet that would get you- it covers half of England. (They don't have many of those, so unlikely to waste one on Manchester).

This is an airburst explosion over OT with the Tsar nuke.

It would burn all the way from Liverpool to Sheffield.

This is how every war should be fought.

Cigarettes, waste paper and manure: North Korea sends 700 rubbish-filled balloons to South Korea.

    <laugh>

Nobody gets killed, just covered in ****. And everyone screams "never again!"

Been watching/reading quite a bit about D Day and Dunkirk over the past week.

    https://twitter.com/Goodable/status/1798082756460843227

Interesting little facts you learn about. I don't mind admitting not even knowing what the term D Day meant and the fact it refers to a lot of amphibious assaults and +1 +2 etc.

Dunkirk also. Many of the british troops on the beaches were blaming the RAF for not being there to protect them from the luftwaffe. What they didn't realise was the Spitfires were deliberately leading the german pilots away to battle them elsewhere. They saved many lives. Also the battles were going on so high up they couldn't see them.

Overnight an Israeli airstrike has killed 27 people at a UN refugee site in a school in central Gaza... the IDF claims it was a Hamas enclave and grey took steps to minimise civilian casualties - unclear what these 'steps' were ...

Yeah. One of them has a mum very close to death with brain cancer so she gets to see her daughter again. I think the ship for negotiating their release has long sailed. Holding hostages in civilian homes in a densely populated area. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
