That’s true, he can continue to improve our present squad though, and there may be a couple of youngster that’ll come through, fingers crossed Benerous may be one of them. In fairness to Liam he does seem to spend time trying to improve individuals, although his system doesn’t seem to help TC.
Bristol City may regret Crystal Palace transfer near-miss as former target thrives: View Bristol City were desperately close to signing Jake O'Brien and since his move to France, he has been superb. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bristol-city-may-regret-crystal-palace-transfer/
Bristol City striker outlines contract ambition as he targets 'big season' under Liam Manning Nahki Wells has remained a constant and consistent figure in the Bristol City squad https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-striker-outlines-contract-9320427
That is very true; he has brought on Mehmeti and Tanner significantly since he joined us. They're both still a work in progress, but much better now. I think his work is cut out with improving Cornick though....
I hope we are not relying on the hopeless scoring record of Wells, Mehmeti and Cornick to get the job done for the next campaign. We did not have a single player in the league's top 24 last season and if we are expecting some miracle to suddenly happen without bringing in a true number 9 the we are in for a struggle. Our ability, or lack thereof, is questionable when you look back at our assessment of Smodzics as a non-potential scorer it makes me wonder who is the idiot who makes these ludicrous decisions? Mehmeti will never meet the target in goal scoring and he should be sent onwards along with Cornick because waiting for either of them to find any form is like watching runny paint dry.
Wells scored a few goals towards the very end of the season when it didn’t really matter Whilst he didn’t play all 46 games his goal scoring record is abysmal when it mattered more If he’s going to lead the line next season it will confirm our lack of ambition
Like so many others before him RR. and when you take a serious look at our player selections over the years I sometimes wonder where our future lies? I think it only highlights our total lack of commitment to getting the job done as per SL's statements.
Bristol City closing in on first summer signing as Brian Tinnion delivers Scott Twine update Bristol City have three key positions targeted as they once again hope to conclude the bulk of their business this month https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-signing-scott-twine-9323885
It's all just words as usual and I expect to be underwhelmed as usual. We are making big things out of signing a player already on our books, who inked a new deal, and a loan player from last term who did not impress me with his performances and we seem to be looking for reasons why we won't get him based on Burnley's loss of a manager. Excuses and blatant over-hyping do not a solid team make.
Brian Tinnion makes pre-season prediction for Bristol City new boys Adam Murphy and Josh Stokes Bristol City will have three new signings as part of their squad this summer following their January transfer business https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-tinnion-murphy-stokes-9330065
Is this the nonsense season or am I wrong in thinking that these 3 players are already on our books? This is actually the kind of hype that ticks me off about Bristol City in that they embellish stuff to make themselves look good thinking we don't have the brains to see through their guff. I suppose if you put one of our already players in the number 9 shirt they will claim they have a new centre forward for next season.
Have you seen any of those three play? Why right them off before actually seeing them? I’m looking forward to see them all play.
Exclusive: Bristol Rovers close to making ex-Bristol City defender their first summer signing Taylor Moore is expected to become Bristol Rovers' first summer signing just over a year after leaving Bristol City https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...exclusive-bristol-rovers-close-making-9331490
He looked good in patches, and seemed full of potential. It seemed his lack of self belief was the problem, meaning he didn’t improve as we’d all hoped.
The last real striker we had was Tammy. The trouble is a decent untapped striker is as rare as rocking horse poo and an established one is above our pay scale.
ROD I was not aiming my comments at the players but rather how City go about announcing it like a big deal when it isn't. I wish all of the players to become legends but we have to see them play before judgement.
