Don’t know what is going through the minds of two parents but I saw a story, this morning, about a baby girl who was dumped in a London park in January. DNA shows that she has two full siblings both of whom were dumped as babies, in 2017 & 2019. The parents are unknown, so clearly not in the DNA system, which is a shame as they clearly need help. The children will, as they grow older, be informed of each other’s existence so they can form a familial bond.
Police in Germany have uncovered email evidence linking Christian Brueckner to Madeleine McCann, but the detective giving evidence doesn’t have clearance to reveal the contents to the court (where Brueckner is on trial for sex offences) because it is “related to the killing” of Madeleine. I think we all assumed that she had been killed but I think this is the first time that anyone has stated quite categorically that she has been. Hopefully the evidence will help the authorities find her poor little body/remains so that her parents can lay her to rest and end their torment.
The Bathtub Test During a visit to the mental asylum, I asked the director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalised. "Well," said the director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub..." "Oh, I understand," I said. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup." "No." said the director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
With the summer holidays approaching people visiting beaches need to be aware of weather conditions and the effect they can have on the water they are swimming in. We’ve had some blustery winds on the Costa Blanca, of up to 40mph, which is believed to be the reason why 2 youngsters (age unknown) got into trouble, needing rescuing. Sadly two of the rescuers, one a Brit, died in the attempt. The day before an Israeli man also lost his life at this beach, (La Roqueta, Guardamar de Segura). When the holiday season is here the beaches generally have lifeguards, but at the moment this one doesn’t. To my knowledge this beach is generally considered to be safe, with a beach slightly further south (La Mata) previously being known for rip tides and occasional loss of life. So if anyone is off on a beach holiday, read the conditions and check what flag is being flown to denote the safety of the water. I haven’t seen any reference to what flag was being flown at this beach, but the report would probably have mentioned if a red flag was being flown.
I still think they should make those safety ads like Charlie says and The Green Cross Code man. I.wonder how many lives they saved. I met David Prownse once and he told me he loved making them.
Having said that the Green Cross Code man did become more machine now than man twisted and evil but he does redeem himself.
