It's not an exaggeration right now that if this continues as is, Reform could genuinely start polling higher than the Tories.
It's difficult one for me to guage, genuinely don't know mate, can't see them (Reform) getting much myself except in areas where people are racist. I don't think migration is the number one problem and if anything we need migrant workers, and if we are to rebuild the NHS we ain't going to do that quickly with just solely British workers, there's only so many trolley pushers you need.
You are such a Liberal brb most things you say I see Liberals talking about on forums all the time, you just disagree with them on Europe essentially.
Farage didn't get much traction in that audience. They applauded all the smaller parties speaking about the positives of immigration. They didn't respond well to much of his other stuff either. BUT this was an audience in one town (Watford) and it was clear as day he wasn't talking to them. It was very much trying to appeal to TV viewers and so how much it will have been received well out there is hard to tell. I'd like to think not much but the way the Tories are imploding who knows.
I'm still boiling over Rishi from yesterday, before the media even mentioned it, I'm seeing Macron, Biden, Charles, Starmer but that guy with all the British values went missing, absolute tosser. Has to be one of the biggest blunders during a GE campaign ever. Twat! But yes, talk about hold the door open for Reform, dickhead. We need to stick him in National Service with a rifle up his arse.
I can't think of a worse blunder. Can't think of many in my lifetime. You had the microphone gaff by Brown when he called the woman vile racist or something. You had Kinnock with the "we're alright" the night before the vote. But this from Sunak is monumental. Mainly because he's fcked off everyone and on THIS issue played right into the hands of Reform.
But it's not even about the blunder. What he did showed something about his character and how he views others. It was crass and completely disrespectful.
What I don't get is that he had his Mrs there with him as well, I'm surprised she didn't turn round and say, do you think this is good idea darling or words to that affect. I can get Rishi being a complete and utter spanner, but really don't expect it from those around him. Did Cameron not think or even know he was going, do you think that's a good idea old boy. And where were all his advisors on the piss somewhere in a back room lol.
Seems some people realise we need to live now as well as the future so are trying to save workers jobs and our own fuel sources. Unite, Labour's biggest trade union backer, has refused to endorse the party's general election manifesto, saying it does not go far enough on protecting workers' rights and jobs in the oil and gas industry.
I posted the same about Cameron yesterday. He's far more clued up than Sunak on these things imo. There's a cynical side to me thinking maybe he wanted him to fck up. I think it's unlikely, but I can't imagine Cameron telling him and then Sunak still going against his advice, unless he's completely fcking stupid.
Labour won't lose any funding. The real gamble is how the public see it. 20 years ago it would've been good optics. Labour leader going against the unions. But right now the unions have widespread public support. Workers rights means a lot to ppl right now. Will it stop ppl voting Labour, I doubt it but it's not like it was before. Might play well with the one nation Tory vote though.
Unite donate £3MIL per year, if they have a bad fall out that is the biggest single donation Labour get from any union.
It’s a massive PR gaffe. Ultimately it doesn’t really affect people in anywhere near the same way as the measures his ****tard party have inflicted on people for the last 14 years. But if it means some would be Tory voters ditch them because of it, then it’s a good thing for the UK
