The problem we have with these young lads and players with only a few Caps, is they are not relaxed like they woukd normally be playing for their clubs, and they are trying too hard and overthinking everything they are doing.

 

Nailed it. They did a close up on Gordon face after he put a poor cross in. He looked awkward or scared, not his normal confident self

 

The pressure must be immense for them all. Palmer and Mainoo aswell

 

IMO it's because Southgate doesn't pick them in the other international matches and give them game time to get experience. He'd rather play Kane etc in the nations league games so he can score a couple of pens to extend his goalscoring record.
