I believe the expression is "Boom!". Or even "****ing boom!". Astonishing. I give it 2 days before the Mail and the Telegraph are saying that this actually proves Starmer (who stayed to carry out his duties as the leader of the opposition) is somehow the ****, and Shifty Sunak is actually prime-ministerial. Odds on they'll now manufacture some sort of bogus domestic crisis - wouldn't be surprised if some Tufton St SPAD is breaking one of Sunak's kid's legs to make it look like a mercy dash.
I'll stick my neck out here and say the same calculations and algorithms that the Civil service were forced to use on the Tufton St SPAD hypotheticals of what they pretend Labour are going to do.
It's only a small part of the story if you click the link embedded above it, it gives you the fuller picture and it will answer your question.
I think the civil service rebutted the tory claims that the civil service had any part in the calculations. They were quite annoyed such a claim was made.
First calculator i ever had, bought for me by my big sister when i started secondary school. Full scientific too
Before I go... must admit, Tim is right, i was astonished Sunak was not still there, fooking disgraceful, unless it was a family emergency it's inexcusable.
Well we wouldn't have had 3 pages on EU waffle at least. Someone tell Diego we left a few years ago, no need to rile yourself about them anymore.
The EU really doesn't The EU really doesn't mean much to me, i only post stuff like that for people who are still whinging about Brexit. As you pointed out it happened a few years ago so get over it.
Indeed. Their point was that yes, they did the final calculations, but that they had no say on the input of data that was calculated. As said, that was dreamt up by the Tufton St alumni SPADs employed at extortionate cost by the Tories since 2010 (I have a really dull article on this, should you wish to read it - but it is an important principle about how the TPA and the IEA have now taken a stranglehold on Conservative policy). Sunak doubled down though that the civil service had underwritten those figures, and they palpably hadn't. Here is the point - why was he SO desperate that he doubled down on this claim, even knowing the CS are completely denying them - when he knows that everyone knows they're bullshit? Answer - it's just aimed at his Trump-like, loony, swivel-eyed base, who don't give a **** about reason or verifiable facts, but who can be tempted over to Reform. It really is Through The Looking Glass time.
Hmm, remember the pearl-clutching when Starmer was supposed to have taken his off to be interviewed by a Muslim website (he hadn't - it was done on a different day with a different jacket)?
THIS.IS.DAN.HODGES. A.CONSERVATIVE. COMMENTATOR. He was the instigator of the bogus Durham Beergate investigation into Stermer, and the ludicrous, 50-odd day Lord Ashcroft-inspired witchhunt against Rayner for £1,5k worth of unpaid CGT (that wasn't). Even the Tories' own rottweilers are turning against them. Like a scene from Game Of Thrones.
