I see the EU are swinging to the right in a big way, many of the members are puling away from their "net zero" green targets too and planning more fossil fuel exploration and extraction.
Did we just see the end sooner than most?

What role would a Labour government play in Europe if the continent shifts to the political right?

The lefties won't watch this, but they should. They'll just make their usual inane comments, or go on some circle jerk in the hope it goes away.

Even Van Der Liar is cosying up to the right wing movement in the EU <laugh> Mind you I'd still give her one!!

I've been saying for a couple of years that countries in Europe are sick to ****ing death with the unelected, fascist dictatorship that is the EU. The bird flu ridden chickens are coming home to roost.

    **** 'em.

Only four EU member states have centre-left or left-wing parties in government and recent performances at the ballot box have been poor. The omens for the coming days are not good.

In only four countries are the Socialists and Democrats projected to come out on top - in Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania and Malta. Even then, Denmark’s Social Democrats under Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen are geared up for a big drop in support.

The left then started to champion issues like gender, LGBT rights or green policies: popular with urban young voters, less so with working-class families.

Seems the left seem to go for the minority vote everywhere instead of looking after the people under most pressure,

It is being called a “greenlash”.

Resistance to green policies has broken out across Europe. It was all so different in the last European elections five years ago, when young voters especially demanded action against climate change.

Soaring energy prices because of Russia’s war in Ukraine and the wider cost of living crisis have turned many Europeans against abandoning fossil fuels. And farmers across Europe have blocked roads in anger at environmental reforms.

It could spell trouble for the EU's Green parties at the polls from 6-9 June.

The parties that make up the Greens/European Free Alliance (G/EFA) are currently the fourth-biggest group in the European Parliament, but most polls suggest they could lose as much as 30% of their seats.
