She's a sturdy thing. Nothing wrong with her other than no mother. We'll keep her and put her into the breeding flock next year. Another week or so until we get her on a single bottle then she can go in the paddock with a couple orphans, then out with all the other lambs.
Discovered another area that the NHS is broken (the English one, not the Welsh one). Daughter follows some of my health conditions. Hayfever, leading to mild asthma. I had chronic hayfever as a kid. Drops, sprays, courses of injections. No effect. As I got older, the symptoms moderated regarding eyes and nose, moved more to the chest. Pre-season training was a nightmare with a tight chest making aerobic activity tough. Still get issues now and the last couple weeks I've been sleeping more than usual, consuming more calories than usual and often feeling as if someone is pressing on my chest. Daughter has followed suit. Doesn't help that she spends most of her time outdoors, often in fields, or moving hay about. In line with me feeling unwell with it, she has not been great. It even slowed her 10k runs down. Took her 59 mins a fortnight ago, her slowest time ever. Anyway, to the point. She's been having problems with her breathing for a few days. Dialled 111, they told her to speak to her GP as she probably needs an inhaler. After a couple days trying to get the doctors on the phone, they wouldn't give her an appointment and told her to ring 999. Called 999 to be told to take her to A&E. Sloping shoulders all round. Mrs remote has just taken her to Leighton Hospital (I've spent enough time there with Mam the last month or so). No doubt she'll be instantly triaged then left for 6 to 8 hours waiting for a doctor for a 5 min consultation. I know the routine. Why the GP wouldn't see her I've no idea. Surely its a GP thing not a hospital visit. Its a crock of $h!t and it stinketh. Never mind, 4th July, new government, lots of finger pointing at the last 14 years, lots of promises, and then the same old same old.
She's ok Cling. Thanks for asking. She seems to be having what I've had and just got used to, though hers may be a bit more severe. It is a bit disconcerting when you can't get enough air in though. Its worse for her as she has a manual job. As for me, I did get given an inhaler 35 years ago. I had to stop using it as it gave me the shakes. I was worse using it than not. The rugby club physio gave me some exercises that helped. All about breathing with your diaphragm not your ribs. Use the bottom of your lungs, not the top. I just put up with it now. An inconvenience not a huge problem. It can't be right that she's had to add to the congestion in A&E though.
I'm glad that she's ok. It's incredibly frightening when you struggle for breath. Yes, our NHS needs sorting as it's so inconsistent. Even in Gloucester, the difference between my old GP practice and the one I'm with now is vast. There's no problem now with local community care but at hospital level there is one almighty problem with the volumes they're asked to cope with and with diminishing resources. I too am fed up with the health of the nation being used as election propaganda only to to be subsequently forgotten about...by all governing parties. Anyway, once again I'm pleased she's ok. Make sure you look after yourself too during what looks like being a blazing late summer again.
I have all these symptoms as well. Been getting worse as I grow older. It’s disgraceful you cannot get a GP appointment. At least here in Cardiff I can get to see a doctor, if not at the surgery then at the CRI via 111. Oh and I wish I could do a 10K under an hour!
It's usually high 40s / low 50s. She's naturally fit with the work she does. And she plays netball. She's done sub 50 on 3 training runs after nothing for 12 months. One things for sure, she doesn't take after me in that regard. Anyway, back from the hospital, only a 4 hour wait after the bloods, ecg and other stuff. All normal. Take some paracetamol and see the GP.
Took me almost an hour and a half to do the Cardiff Bay 10K a couple of weeks ago. But it’s still good to be able to keep going.
Off for a couple of weeks in a favourite cottage of ours in deepest Bucks whilst our friend the owner (he doesn't actually live in it) has swanned off from the "big house" up the road for a month in California . Missed out last year through matters beyond our control but looking forward to resuming our aquaintance with the whistling kites wheeling overhead above the conifers and resident squirrels in the back garden and orchard. If the wifi is working across there, I'll check in later to see if you're behaving yourselves - and no swearing at fellow posters please.............
Back to where she wanted to be 3 days ago, but lost half a day work and spent 5 hours traveling and at the hospital.
