Looks like Challinor plays possession based high intensity football so fits with our original style before the wheels came off and the train exploded.

And all the north east hack journalists start their clumsy circle-jerk over three names that either come from the bookies or from our forums.

Ugly ugly ugly. What an embarrassment.

If it’s Chalinor or Robinson after the time we have taken and all the names that have been mentioned. There will be a total meltdown from the fans Don’t want Robinson Chalinor has done well but has been no where near this level Will obviously give them my support but after chasing Still for so long. To then come up with either of those two would be a shocking decision

He’s got a good record but look at the teams he’s managed. This job is on a completely different scale.

I don't want Challinor purely for the reaction I know he will receive. Which will be both understandable but also extremely disruptive.

It just has to be Jensen, if we are truly down to those 3.

Personally I don't think we have a shortlist of 3... they're just the 3 names been mentioned.

And bare in mind Robinson has only been mentioned by Nixon who probably has an agent mate pushing him

I agree with you but at the same time, it doesn’t mean he can’t go up a level and be a success.

If it’s down to those three though, it has to be Jansen, surely.

That Copely tweet is laughable. Essentially admitting he's not a good journalist:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Nixon adds nothing of note with that article mind. No mention of talks just vague statements he'll class as a correct story if one of them join but nothing where we can say he was wrong if it's someone else.

This all feels eerily similar to January, won’t **** the bed until I see something official though

Yeh I like the idea that him hitting a brick wall might mean something. Like he ever hits anything other than a brick wall :D

I get it to an extent but we have to get behind the manager - give them a chance to prove if they are the right or wrong manager

Challinor is an interesting one as i have loved watching his teams over the last couple yrs, yes its at a lower level but he plays really good football so nothing to say he couldnt do it here

Robinson is a massive no from me but if it is him, he will have my full support

    Jansen - excellent choice
Chanillor- not overly keen but is an unknown
Robinson - just **** right off Sunderland

    That will be my views

Of course it does, it’s the same people running the show. This shambles so far hasn’t surprised me one bit.

Didn't Brian Clough manage Hartlepool before going on to bigger and better things!

I read it as 'my contacts aren't good enough to find any information so I gave up'.

If this is the standard of journalism these days I might try to get into the industry. Spend days writing stories based on other peoples information. Must be nice.

Whoever we appoint will get my support, I’ll be at our games home and away, almost kicking every ball. I hope whoever comes in is a huge success. I’d totally understand supporters concerns if it was Challinor or Robinson, though. I don’t wanna get into it (yet). Let’s see what develops over the coming days…

Whoever the next appointment is has to, in my opinion, inspire not only the fans but the players too. They all want a head coach that can develop and improve them as players and give them the best chance of impressing so they can either progress with us or attract interest from up the chain.

We have a load of pretty prized assets now, get the appointment wrong and make an uninspiring choice and a lot of them will be agitating for a move from the off. It would be tough for a couple of the names mentioned to win them round from the start, they simply won't be given a chance.

While I said I would be fine with Challinor, I'm not fine with the way we would've landed on him for the job. Plus he'd be starting on the back foot with the support which really doesn't help.
