Good Morning. It's Thursday 6th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Roca set to extend loan deal after Betis dismiss cut price deal

Marc Roca will spend another season on-loan at Real Betis after Leeds missed out on promotion last month.

The 27yo was one of seven first team players to take advantage of a clause in their contracts, allowing them to go out on loan in the event of relegation! Two players, understood to be Roca and Harrison have further small print in their terms which grants them permission to stay away from Elland Road until such time that Leeds are promotion back to the big time!

The Spaniard set Leeds back £10m plus add-ons, when they rescued him from obscurity two years ago, and became an important part of Jesse Marsch's squad. By this time next year, Roca will only have 12 months left on his contract, making his worth negligible!

Leeds even offered Betis the chance to buy Roca at a cut price deal believed to be £3m, but when you already have his services for free, without so much as a loan fee, why bother!

    Should trio be welcomed back

Given that Roca and Harrison are (probably) the only two players that can stay out on loan until such time that Leeds are promoted back to the top flight, what happens to the rest?

Could we see Aaronson, Wober and Kristensen return to Elland Road, and what kind of reception would they get? (I've not included Llorente as it looks like Roma and Leeds have struck a £3.5m cut price deal to make the move permanent).

It may not be a popular decision, but if they can help Leeds return to the top flight, shouldn't they be welcomed back? If the club are stupid enough to offer escape routes, our anger should be directed at them!

Leeds preparing to pounce on Reggae Boyz star

Bobby De Cordova-Reid is reportedly a top target for Leeds this Summer, after news that contract talks have broken down between the Jamaican International and Fulham.

The 31yo is set to become a free agent this month, bringing an end to his five year stay at Craven Cottage. Although known for his wing play, Reid can play attacking mid left or right, either wing, or as a forward, which would give Daniel Farke many more options next season.

He made 17 starts (and 16 substitute appearances) last season, totalling 1807 minutes of game time. Whoscored have rated him 17th in the Fulham roster, with a very average 6.40 rating.

    Morning all

Wober should not be welcomed back under any circumstances, he stabbed us in the back when he agreed to stay, was going to be team captain and then jumped ship at the last minute, messing up preparations even more than they already were.

Kristensen I doubt would be good enough at RB for Farke, I don't think it is a case of welcoming him back because he could help the cause, more like is he good enough.

Aaronson, by all accounts improved towards the end of his loan, I don't know why, he is the one I could see being given another chance by Farke.

We need Wober to have an outstanding Euro and attract attention

I'd tell Roca he can go on loan but not to Betis, I'd tell them you pay the fee or he goes elsewhere.
Just can't see any way back for any of the rats.

No to Reid, very hit and miss and as mercenary vibes about it

Same here but sad reality, same as gnonto early this season, if they return and pull on the Leeds jersey, we have no choice but to support them

I understand the 'rat' hatred but genuinely, they don't bother me. We're all Leeds fans so we take it personally. They aren't. They were given a contract option (and remember the stay at Leeds option was on less than half their previous salary). The contract was pretty much designed to get them to go to save wages. Blame the guy who agreed the contracts, I say. Free the rats!

Though I don’t really want them back because how committed would they be, it is a fair point that you make.

I've said it before, & I'll say it again - we should use Wober, unless we get a generous offer - none of your cut price nonsense. As I recall, he was very efficient in the PL as a LB, & this is a weak area for us presently. Why should we lay out more cash (that we presently don't have!) for a replacement, when we already have one! A ****ing left back with a ****ing left foot, so desired by so many for so long. As an aside, he's a bloody good CB too. Would give Struijk some competition & allow Ampadu to return to midfield.

Kristiansen is the opposite for me. Bought as a marauding RB, he turned out to be marauding as in a tractor-with-seized-brakes sort of way. Scored a few goals, I suppose, but he was better as a CB imo, reaching the heights of average. On occasion. (Too harsh?).

Aaranson is nothing other than a headless Duracel bunny, with the strength of a prematurely born hamster. He reminds me of that clown Grimes that we got on loan from Swansea. Neither could do anything right. We'll surely be keeping him, as no-one else will have him - not even the likes of my beloved Partick Thistle would sign a soppily weak midfielder that can't tackle, dribble, assist or score. Perhaps he needs a half season loan to Harrogate Town or its ilk to toughen him up. A forlorn hope though, methinks.

Agree with Gessa re. Roca. We should start heavy rumours before the Euros that he will only go out on loan to someone else other than his current team, who we consider to be disrespectfully taking advantage of his loan situation. Perhaps Leeds could make a public statement that if he goes out on loan, it will not be to the same club again? Not quite sure how this loan clause is worded, tbf - perhaps he can dictate where he goes. I can't imagine a club would be that foolish to give him carte blanche to do what he wants ... Oh, wait a minute ..... <doh>

Btw, are we absolutely sure that it's Roca & Harrison who have the loan clause on repeat? Why would different clauses be used - surely the wording would be lifted from one contract & applied to the next?
