Off Topic Hull City Centre Public Realm Strategy

I know it's only an artist impression, but the inclusion of a cricket 'lane' seems rather odd! I've been trying to google for more info. It sounds more like an eating, drinking, gaming, tv watching venue rather than some sports academy .... or am I missing something?

 

It’s an entertainment venue from what I’ve heard through my work. These sort of venues are on the rise. Theres a football one financed by Rio Ferdinand and some other footballers in London that’s kind of similar.

 

Surely it should be a rugby league one in Hull?

Big disappointment.

 

In today's HDM planning permission has gone in for two 125m high wind turbines on King George Dock, that's over twice the height of Hull Royal Infirmary. Fair to say they'll be big feckers.

The delays on the reopening are frustrating. But tell you what, they are doing a good job of the restoration. The outside of the building looks almost brand new.

I thought it was always planned for a long refurb

 

It was late 2023 initially. Has been gradually pushed back. Now it's aiming for a late 2025 reopening.

January 2020 it closed.
