Thats always been my point with FFP. They were obstensibly introduced to stop clubs going into financial ruin. But people quickly saw through that bullshit, so they have been more open about their real intentions of late. If it were to protect clubs financially, then someone explain to me how giving out points deductions and fines somehow helps clubs in financial difficulty?
United won nothing, had a pokey ground and were running around begging anyone who had any money, to the point of having some guy do keepie ups on their pitch as some from of weird fundraiser, then somehow had a load of money and bought their success.

Granted, but you cant say they broke the rules when the rules didnt exist then. If they bought in a rule to say its illegal for bike riding gaylords to spend £3k on mountain bikes and retroactively locked up anyone who'd ever done that, that wouldnt be fair either.

My first proper full memory of football was watching England beat Cameroon in the quarter finals of Italia 90.
Mine is losing penalties at Euro 1996. Don't remember anything about the actual game though. First full match I remember watching was the 0-0 in Italy which secured France 98 place. Main memory is Ince covered in blood.
