It's awful. If they can't form and maintain a relationship with the club and those close to the club they simply should not be in that job. Conning a ****ing living when there is likely someone out there who would actually do it.
And they add ‘it’s unclear’ whether he’s returned to the table, that is journalist speak for they don’t have a clue and never did
On me bucket list for the next couple of years, been to Amsterdam a few times but this always evaded me
Then you look a whoppers like George Caulkin who used to be a proper journalist and is now just a mag fanboy for the otherwise excellent The Athletic
Sorry, I'd missed the word club twice in your first paragraph, thought you were banging on about the tories
Just spoke to one of my dutch contacts, he knows jansen really well as has worked with him for yrs. Says he is a 'very very very good coach', is a 'great guy' and that he 'would be a good fit, his English is also amazing' He hasnt heard if he has been in talks with us but will try n find out
I was gonna say it's totally different now, things are just tweeted out by clubs themselves, national reporters, even international reporters. Clubs don't need local media to put a big story on the back page. It's not Copley's fault particularly, he won't have a direct line to Speakman like he might have if it were 1981.
Said it the other day the echo and the club should absolutely be supporting each other. Murdoch employees are doing fine without their direct line to our suits.
