I’m sold. Just been scouring Twitter and a fair few Feyenoord fans wanted him as their new head coach which is a major endorsement.
What are the Feyenoord fans saying out of interest? Slot plays quite an exciting brand of football, so presumably Jansen's style can't be too dull if they see that as an appealing replacement?

Refuse to get excited about any of these random names. It's clear Still isn't coming (not convinced I wanted him anyway) so the idle fingers of the twitterati are seemingly googling "out of work, European coaches under 55" and linking us with a new one each day.

As long as KS and KLD have a new man in for the 1st day of pre season then I'm happy. I don't give a **** if it's not a sexy name, because there is no guarantee of success. Just get the right man appointed and crack on...
Nailed it for me marra

Uh huh.

Is that just a copy and paste response to questions about every single manager at this point?

That said, I think Still is done now.

Doesn’t seem great when everyone is singing off the same hymn sheet about staff issues. Wouldn’t mind Jansen like, hopefully signs that if we have missed out on Still we aren’t going to settle for whoever is easiest to bring in.

Know little of Jansen, but know AZ is a proper club that always competes.

4 years there talks to me, so it certainly doesn’t offend me the link.

I’ve messaged my pal who’s a massive Feyenoord lad see what he’s got to say.
I'm not sure there's anything in the link mind. I know people are saying that the ITKs all pass things on in good faith but I do wonder if there are some Sunderland 'fans' making an easy bit of money out of the betting market now. I'm not talking about anyone on here by the way.

It's fairly easy and formulaic to get people dancing to a tune if you're so inclined. Even more so when you have shameless know nowts like Nixon willing to indulge it and jump on the bandwagon/follow the crowd.

ik it's nixon but he has said the interest is serious

Are there any pieces on Jansen floating about? Like videos or breakdowns / analysis of his style.

I know nothing about him other than he looks like a decent bloke :D

I added this edit to the end of my post: Even more so when you have shameless know nowts like Nixon willing to indulge it and jump on the bandwagon/follow the crowd.

This is the thing that taints Speakman for me. I get what he’s trying to do with bringing in promising young players and I prefer that to paying over the odds for journeymen on one last payday. This will not always be successful and I am prepared to accept that for now.
However, when Mowbray was sacked, there appeared to be no plan with how he was to be replaced. There should have been a replacement head coach ready to walk through the door, as that’s what Speakman has alluded to with his succession planning. It didn’t happen then and it appears it isn’t happening again.
If there isn’t a plan in place that can be acted on swiftly and successfully, Speakman should learn to keep his gob shut. I don’t hold out much hope that he can do that either
I agree with this. I remember in the early days of Speakman, it was discussed on here about how we were planning to play a certain way, bring in players to achieve that style and a head coach to match. But if the head coach didnt work out, we'd have several managers with similar styles in the back of our mind for smoother transitions if we felt it was right to change the head coach.

Even though I think this is difficult to achieve faultlessly, the concept sounds great but doesnt feel like we've got this in place at all following the fallout of Mowbrays sacking and now Beales. Got to improve with this imo.

Clutching at straws here but Jansen would at least seem to be able to get the best out of young players looking at his AZ history. Also got to think it would be great for Seelt.
Dutch people, including Seelt, speak better English than most English people I know so I can't see it making much difference to him either way mind if that's what you mean?
