He's given a very good account of himself.

Going into the last year of his contract now, so both he and the club have a big decision to make.

He is a few years older than Lankshear, Scarlett and Veliz, so might be eager for regular football elsewhere.

If he’s not gonna get chances at Spurs (imo he won’t) then he should leave. If he has a good couple of seasons at his next club then he can easily get a move to a PL side in the future

If I was him I'd probably leave.

As a fan, I won't lose any sleep over it if he does.

We have a tendency to massively over hype young players. Statistically only a fraction will go on to have outstanding careers and while he may well be a late bloomer, fact of the matter is he has had five loans all at clubs significantly below PL level and only done well at the most recent one, a team relegated from the Dutch league.

I know injuries haven't been kind to him, but by the laws of probability we are looking at a Championship quality player at best.

I think Parrott's got a decent level of ability, but living in London isn't ideal for him.
Too many distractions and too many dodgy mates.

Might do well to get a move to a German side.
Maybe someone like Wolfsburg or Union Berlin, who both struggled for goals.
Union's top goalscorer was Gosens, who's a wingback. He got 7 in all competitions.

Troy scored an extra time winner for Ireland tonight in a friendly against Hungary. Bit lucky with the finish but after a counter attack break from his own half! Lads confidence is flying.

I've long said that I really like our batch of young strikers, between Parrott, Scarlett, Donley and now Lankshear, I think there's a real possibility that at least one of them can go on to be a Premier League calibre striker. Those of us that watch the academy can tell you there's a clear difference in pedigree with these than there were with guys like Sterling, Harrison, Loft etc.

But with that said I do think the club will look to cash in on Parrott, especially with the news that Richarlison is more likely to stay than go. If as expected we bring in a starting calibre striker then there's realistically little to no game time available for a third choice player and at Parrott's age he needs to be at least in a position where he's getting game time off the bench and occasional starts. The fact Parrott's stock is also at its highest now after a very impressive season in a struggling side will likely strongly act as a financial motivator for the club to get "free money" in the sense of it being 100% pure profit.

I hope whoever we potentially sell him too though we have a sell on clause inserted into the deal, if he leaves and continues to develop, he could be a player going for a decent sum of money within a few years.

Japhet's contract expires at the end of the month.

The way the club phrased its announcement makes it sound like Ryan's does too, although I think we may have just written off the final year.

I had in my head that Tanganga had one more year left. Very surprised we’ve allowed his deal to run down to be honest, think we’ve probably missed on out on a good £15m+ especially after his impressive Millwall loan, he’d be worth more but for injuries which are seemingly now behind him. He’ll be a very smart pickup for a number of sides, easily Prem calibre.

Sessegnon I have a lot of sympathy for from his injury nightmare but my word what an awful, awful player and signing he’s been. I genuinely don’t think I can name 3 positive performances from him. Probably the worst signing of that 19/20 bunch and that takes some doing, very much a leading candidate for our worst ever signing too. I struggle to see where he goes from here, he might get one or two pay as you play offers, other than that I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he looks at an early retirement, he’s utterly broken at 24 and no club will take a big enough risk on him.

Edit: Dan KP and Ally Gold have said we had an option to extend Tanganga’s deal by a year, really feels like an odd decision not to have done so, that’s a HG solid defender who just excelled for the second half of the season in the Champ leaving for nothing... Very, very odd decision.

4 gone, just another 10 to go

Sessegnon & Tanganga will hopefully get Championship level moves as that’s their level. Although Sessegnon needs to sort out his injury issues asap.

£15m+ for Tanganga is very generous. I couldn't see us getting more than £5-7m for him.

And if the club now looks at that kind of money as loose change not worth the headache of an extension and finding a permanent move, that can only be good news.

I think (hope) we just want to get a move on and clear as much out as possible before the Euros.

There are plenty of players who will be much harder to shift, and for fees worth the headache of shifting them.

Yeah the last thing the club needs to be doing is haggling and negotiating for the likes of Sessegnon and Tanganga when there is so many players to sell and hopefully buy this summer. Like you say the sooner they get rid of any surplus players the better.
