He will defend owners blindly. I wouldn't want Poch if he wasn't there already, but if he's already there and clearly turning the club around then I wouldn't want him out either.

What I've heard is that they were interfering in the footballing side of things on the pitch and Poch disagreed so they got rid. If that's true then not only is that fcked up, but a concern for the next guy they bring in.

Yeah they basically told him, all the players who performed last season (bar Cole Palmer) are being offloaded and you have to make our ****ty, overpaid signings work.
Plus they were not impressed with his suggested signings for next season either, so I hear.

I fcking hate owners sometimes <laugh>

Btw would you really be that pissed off if they sold Gallagher. I think he wouldn't add much to Spurs tbh.

Thats not really the point, but yeah Gallagher played more minutes for us last season than anyone else. And yeah they werent all 9/10 performances, but he put in at least 10 great games and, except for Cole Palmer, was our best player last season.
For us to then sell him to Spurs would be a kick in the nuts.

I think the “busy summer ahead” touted by the experts is bad news. I really don’t think we need an awful lot. Definitely a keeper & centre back but other than that…maybe a striker and left back but we aren’t desperate for those imo. Of our first team last season I wouldn’t get rid of any of them apart from Disasi. Our players out on loan could fund a keeper and a defender but it seems like we’re intent on starting from square one.

    Am in complete agreement.
like I said previously, if it means the difference between keeping Gallagher or selling him, ill gladly give Jackson another season and **** Osimhen off.
Knowing our luck with strikers he will be a £100m flop anyway.
Save the money, keep Jackson as starting ST and spend where its needed, ie Keeper and CB.

For all our problems with strikers, once we got Enzo out of the midfield we saw Casadio suddenly turn into a player, and the team go on a good run of form. We also saw goals scored. I'm with you, get rid of Enzo, keep Gallagher, ( though I think Lavia may prove to be our best midfielder) forget 100 mill strikers who've never played PL and get in someone like a Toney. Keep Chalobah and sell either Badashielle or Disasi and play Colwill and we will be in pretty good shape. We went toe to toe with City twice and showed we CAN play. Problem now is Winstanley and Stewart will **** everything up and sell who we should keep and the new "Yes Man" Coach (not manager) will be starting behind where we just finished. Nothing changes until Clearwater clear off and some football brains arrive take their place.

McKenna was never going to be a contender for the Chelsea job it was just lazy media speculation same with the Manure situation. We would love to have Omari Hutchinson back as a permanent signing and the fact that Mckenna is staying will I hope now make this more likely.

It actually wasnt lazy media speculation.
I cant speak to Man United, but Chelsea reps 100% contacted him about the manager job.
Whether he showed interest only to change his mind or whether empahtically told them to **** off straight away is another matter, but Chelsea definitely contacted him.

Well it doesn't really matter now does it. I will be more worried about him leaving us next season after he has kept us up.

    Aye I guess its moot.
Back to back promotions is a big deal in this day and age, when the gap between the leagues, financially is more like a casm.
Am pretty sure McKenna is destined to be a United manager anyway, as he had links with them.
Its good he stayed at Ipswich in my view, I dont think he'd have got on at Chelsea and its probably best for his career that he stays at Ipswich.
If he keeps you up with aplomb and you finish midtable or higher though, the poachers will be circling for him.

Having Omari on loan was instrumental last season and he has become a huge hit at Portman Road so we are all hoping that we can either sign him on loan or buy him off you. I don't know if he will feature in your first team plans for next season given the exceptional quality you have already. Finger crossed.

Well Its unlikely he will feature for us, and we need to flog academy players, so I think our owners will be wanting to sell him rather than loan him again.
So if you stump up their valuation of him, I cant see it being a problem. Our board love selling academy players. Even ones we want to keep.

Well if we do get him and he goes on to be an absolute Baller you will most probably buy him back for twice the price you sold him for in the first place! <laugh>

    Thats our M O <laugh>
Sell him for £20m, buy him back in 4 years for £85m!
Going all the way back to Graeme Le Saux in 1992, sold him to Blackburn for 700k, bought him back 4 years later for £5m.

    Nah me either.
I thought he was a tidy little player when he first burst on to the scene.
He, Declan Rice and Phil Foden all seemed to come about at the same time, and were always talked about collectively as the next bunch of youngsters who will become world class, unfortunately for us, Rice and Foden went on to become world class, and Mount stagnated and stayed at decent.
His season on loan with Lampard at Derby and his first season with Lampard at Chelsea, were both great.....he just never kicked on from it.
Doesnt excuse the way the club treated him though, he was never a "bad" player for us, he did a job and was decent, but when I think of Mount I just think of missed potential.

Just wanted to say good luck aswell for next season, hope you stay up, have always like Ipswich, back in the days when you had James Scowcroft, Mick Stockwell, Mauricio Tauricco, Richard Wright, Kieran Dyer, Marcus Stewart and the like. I used to follow Ipswich quite a lot.
Last time you got promoted, you finished 5th in your first PL season, I dont see you achieving that again <laugh> but good luck for the new season. (except in your two games against us of course :p)

Cheers for that <ok> I think we will surprise a few teams this year and with the magician McKenna in charge we have every chance of staying up. Our new owners wont be wanting to just make up the numbers. It's just so hard to believe that we finished 11th in League 1 only 2 years ago!! To go toe to toe with Leeds Leicester and Southampton last year and beat them was just simply incredible and as the gulf between the PL and the EFL gets ever wider I dont think that it will ever happen again!

You'll be there or there abouts next season def a Champions League spot so long as you don't make too many changes in the Summer. Spurs have peaked and Villa will fade as they try and cope with European Football and PL at the same time. I cant really see a big renaissance at Man Utd they are screwed for a few more years yet.
