Lens owner himself has said they need a fire sale. They ain’t gonna be growing anytime soon, don’t forget they are historically a yo-yo club despite being one of best supported in France, they e had a good few years culminating in CL but if you asset strip their squad there’s only 3 or 4 to strip. They banking on massive money for Wahi and Danso in all reality, and they won’t get close to £100million for that pair, who are both quality and their most saleable assets. Taking that job right now might be incredibly damaging.
Announcing to the world they need a fire sale isn't likely to help then at the negotiating table either. No way they get top dollar.
I'm generally an optimistic fella...although I have mainly stayed away from here through all this stuff going on,'cos I can't stand the uncertainty, fuelled by the negativity of those so inclined. So,if Will reads your post, and is swayed by your arguments, and he ends up here,I would love to buy you as many pints as you can drink at a match of your choice.
Bob, you're a great lad...we've spoken...but,if you think that, you need to have a word with your nurse.
I don't believe anyone's said that but I know what you were responding to. My points stand nonetheless.
I got a feeling we will start hearing more from the press etc today. The more I think about it, I just can't see Still going to Lens with all that's going on there, seems.they are in a pretty big mess
I get that people would think Lens are a more attractive proposition at the moment, however what I wouldnt have is Sunderland waiting for crumbs to fall off their table. I think we should be moving on, thats if we havnt already as no one seems to know what stage any negotiations are at.
Heckingbottom has show several times he cannot develop a team. He has taken teams that were expected to go up up, then failed. Was shocking at Leeds. He is not even close to what we need he has no history of building and developing sides. There is absolutely nothing in his managerial history to suggest he can handle and thrive in this job.
Just on the Lens vs Sunderland debate, the only thing I have to add is that it’s not as simple as that. it’s actually Lens vs Sunderland vs Wait Just because Lens is in a **** state doesn’t mean he comes here. He can choose to wait for another gig.
Very true mate. Is there likely a bigger job this summer though if he does want to come to England? Leicester haven’t shown interest and even if they did does he fancy starting on minus points first job in England?
I don't think the criteria for Bob is much more than if he knows them and classes them as mates. He was saying Eric Roy should have the job when he hadn't been a manager for about a decade. Yeah he turned out to be successful but when Bob was saying g he should get it there was nothing in the slightest to suggest he would be, it appeared like he was done with being a manager/head coach and was going to be director of football type!
