Great news, WDWW, many congrats. I can't remember whether you said before but is this your first kid, or are the sleepless nights an old familiar friend? Hope you and yours are all doing well.
Haha thanks DR but we called him Vinnie rather than Semundseth That will be my first job on my arrival to Fulham on Sunday GeraScores... Had the Fulham FC bibs but put them in the black wash and the colours ran
Week 8 updated - sorry for the delay http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/73744-Fulham-Fantasy-Football-League?p=1003017#post1003017
Don't forget, this week is quarter finals week in the Boa. Here's the draw again: Tootif vs The Dembele Flops West London Whites vs Riley's Oley Oleys FFC Madness vs McBride's Legion Megson's Barmy Army vs Fulhamyself Same tie-break rules as listed before, somewhere on page 8 of this thread if you want to check on them. Red and yellow cards are your friend, so rush out now to sign leg-breaker Mousa Dembele! Good luck to one and all.
Luis Boa Morte Memorial Shield quarter final results: Tootif 25-21 The Dembele Flops West London Whites 52-42 Riley's Oley Oleys FFC Madness 36-40 McBride's Legion Megson's Barmy Army 28-56 Fulhamyself Congrats to the winners, commiserations to the losers, and will somebody please get a draw so we can go into the unfair play tie-breaker? I don't know, I spend hours dreaming up this stuff and the rest of you can't be bothered to draw a game - very unfulhamish, in my opinion. I'll announce the draw for the semi-final when I can get my sons to help me with it (they enjoy it, bless them, even though they don't have a clue who any of you are) and the date for the semi when I can be bothered to look up what I said before! For the record, the semi-finalists are three giants from the upper echelons of the league, and one plucky lower-half minnow punching above her weight. Keep swinging, Penguin!
I am going to try some reverse psychology this week. As i have Demps in my team and he has not really been banging them in as per last season, I am going to sacrifice him for the greater good of FFC and hope that he destroys Wigan this weekend, even though I will lose his points. The things we do for our beloved Fulham !!!!
I tend to do the reverse in that if I have a player in my team is playing against Fulham, I relegate him to the subs bench, so I don't feel so bad if he comes on and gets me points This week was Evertons Baines who got 1 more point than Hangeland who I put in my team in his place
Very noble, Froggy. Perhaps I'm the reason Zamora missed that sitter - I had made him captain. I'm giving the captaincy back to Aguero for the weekend, if Bobby doesn't turn things around soon, maybe I should fall on my sword too. It just feels wrong not to have a Fulham man in the team!
Captain, I did not realise that the reason I had my head in my hands for 30 secs on Sunday was your fault!
Here's the semi final draw: Fulhamyself vs McBride's Legion Tootif vs West London Whites Ties to be played gameweek 11, with the final in gameweek 13. Drawn games to be resolved by the usual foul-friendly criteria. Go on, somebody get a draw, just so we can have a card count.
Crumbs! I can't believe I'm still in this. Only the other three managers will know how it feels to have the Luis Boa Morte Memorial Shield within touching distance..... (And thanks for your kind comments, Captain. It feels good to be a giant killer!)
Semi Final results: Fulhamyself 51-48 McBride's Legion Tootif 39-50 West London Whites Fulhamyself will play West London Whites in the final during gameweek 13. All usual tie-break rules apply.
Devastated - so Close yet so Far -------if only Dempseys header had gone in, at the end. I don't know whether to Resign or wait for my chairman to sack me
Luis Boa Morte Memorial Shield Final Fulhamyself 59-51 West London Whites A 14pt haul for Emmanuel Adebayor was the difference in a closely fought contest, as the first silverware of the season went to a vibrant Fulhamyself team. With the 'Selves also enjoying a 49pt lead at the top of the table, they really are looking like the team to beat in the world of Fulham 606 Fantasy Football. Victorious manager Niall Connolly (who may or may not be Fulham Ireland - sorry, I've lost track of which usernames here match up to real names!) enjoyed two well-earned Fulham points from Brede Hangeland and even managed to honour our sponsor by including two players - O'Shea and Kompany - who marked the final with a yellow card. Hearty congrats to the winners and commiserations to the plucky West London Whites. They played their part in a thrilling final which went all the way to the final whistle. Or something. I'm planning another serious cup for the run in to the end of the season. Is there the appetite for a frivolous competition with novelty rules between now and then, or shall we leave it at just two?
Well done the 'Selves! Another "serious cup"?! Crumbs, I didn't realise we were supposed to be taking this seriously! I am up for any cup - serious, frivolous or a mixture of the two.
