As can that heron that's sitting on your neighbours roof ......apologies FellTop, I lost all my fish to a heron a few years ago
Same happened to my old neighbours fish - I was wondering why a fish head had suddenly appeared in my garden until i saw it perched on the shed roof the next day. I like chilling in the garden, I mainly grow soft fruit, I've got a plum tree, black berries, goose berries, black currants and strawberries in and amongst the odd flower. Last year I planted a red seedless grape vine which seems to be growing well next to the kiwi I also enjoy fixing stuff - mainly old retro gadgets Sony walkman, nothing beats listening to music on vinyl, cassette or mini disc.
I'm no gardener RTB, just my wife's labourer . I've just finished cutting ours and my neighbours grass and planted some bedding plants. Going to chill in the sun now until she finds me another job
Yeah - that sounds familiar I got the list of jobs to do this morning - better get them done before she gets back
They are buggers. I have a battle of wits every year with them. There is a breeding spot on the Derwent not far from. They dont even bother sitting on the neighbours roof, they perch on a greenhouse or shed roof in my own garden. Cheeky sods. Anyway just in my garden now. Glass of homemade lemonade, podcast, and some salad to get on with. Happy days.
I can’t believe how stupid I was, I looked out the bedroom window for about 3 mornings admiring the heron until a lightbulb went off in my brain and I realised the git had cleaned my pond of fish.
Resourceful buggers they are as well. Can suss out most tricks. Came in early one morning from dog walk and went into the garden to clean the dog up. Soon as opened the gate saw this big bugger take off. Dog went straight for it and then stopped when she saw the size of it as the winga opened. Straight back to behind me the little coward
Sitting in the pub shed enjoying the nice weather. Koi in my garden pond are happy in the sun (netting over the top as I too have been victim to the local heron) The blue tits are busy feeding their chicks in the birdhouse and the strawberries and cherry tree seem to be coming along well. Life’s nice when it’s like this!
Been out today on the bike with the good lady. Gorgeous day and managed to catch time with @Scout73 in the back garden. I'll be taxi tonight, just make sure the mags don't see me @Scout73
