It was. But the ball before should never have been two runs. Keep it down to one and Curran wouldn't have faced that next ball.
I don't know how Tom got left out of the world cup squad. He's such a quality all-rounder these days.
We're being made to pay for leaving so many runs out there in our last two or three overs. Given that we bat down to no.9, we never really should be seeing Wood or Turner with bat in hand.
If I remember, Hants lost the first 3 or 4 matches last season and got to.the final. The battle for the wooden spoon will be between Middlesex and Glamorgan in the southern group. Apart from.Hants would love to see Gloucestershire do well.
Birmingham have a serious bowling attack this Blast season, now that they've added Garton and Gleeson. And I presume Woakes may play some matches for them.
Well done Middlesex. Very unlucky to lose by such a small margin of 98 runs. Perhaps they can do better than last year and get 0 points!!
I think every Blast game so far has been won by the team batting 2nd, except in the 2 instances where the team batting 1st scored 200+ Hampshire just need to win the toss next game and they’ll be ok
I'm guessing it will be Gubbins who comes into the XI tomorrow. He's far from a natural t20 player, which shows how much we're scraping the barrel with our squad at the moment. I'm not sure where I bat would him though. I don't really want him in as a straight swap at no.3, because that risks us failing to take full advantage of the powerplay. But equally the powerplay is probably his best chance of scoring boundaries, because his lack of power and inventiveness could make boundaries difficult once five men are on the rope.
I don't really understand this double header at Edgbaston TBH. I don't think there's a single T20 Blast game on Sky after today until the knockout stages (due to the T20 World Cup) so this seems a bit pointless.
