It wasn’t me who brought it up, the pitch was worse at the start of this year than it was in 2017 and the two groundsmen who claimed unfair dismissal were indeed unsuccessful.
It wasn't a decent achievement though. He was backed by Mel's Millions and had enough in that squad to get automatic promotion. IIRC they just sneaked into the play offs on the last day
Everton say they will "assess all options for future ownership" after the deadline for the sale of the club to 777 Partners expired. The US-based consortium agreed to buy majority owner Farhad Moshiri's 94% stake in the club in September 2023. 777 Partners was given until 05:00 BST on Saturday to complete the share purchase agreement of Everton but the deadline passed without resolution. The club say they will "continue to operate as usual" as they look at their ownership options.
Mourinho looks like a right tramp in trainers and a crappy polo shirt with a formal suit *I’m aware the polo shirt probably cost £500 but it looks like one worn by someone working in a hand car wash that wants everyone to be branded.
When you have got his money, he can wear what he likes.. He has made 70m, the most of any coach just in payoffs when sacked.
They had already 'loaned' the club over £200 million in advance of the takeover which the FA did not ratify including £16 million to pay players wages as recently as the last week in April!!!!
I'm complaining about my price, it's a daft process. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
meanwhile, the final game in the promotion/relegation play-offs between the top two french divisions has just finished. viewers will recall this theme follows from ex-tiger dicko scoring the first goal in the process. today, st etienne, 3rd in the second flight visited metz, 3rd last in the top division. this is the second leg. st etienne won the first leg 2-1. 6min metz winger red carded. uh oh! 17min despite the red-card, metz go ahead 15min metz make it 2-0 35min st etienne make it 2-1 halftime 64min st etienne goal disallowed for a foul at the end of normal time, it's 2-1 and the aggregate score is 3-3. so it's extra time. no goals in the first period. 117min st etienne score to make it 2-2 and to give themselves an aggregate 4-3 lead. and that's how it stayed. st etienne had 67% possession and 31 goal attempts, with 11 on target. metz managed 11 and 4 in response. relegation for metz, promotion for st etienne.
Nice place St Etienne, saw Beckham's sending off and Owen's wonder goal there. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
St Etienne fans are partial to a riot. Rioted when they were relegated. Always have been that way inclined. All these years later is the same tale with Ennglishnfans abroad.Man Utd were banned from Europe following a riot there. I know a lad who was there in the 1970s. He says they were bombarded with bottles and cups full of piss. Needless to say the French police stood there and did nothing but the moment a United fan threw one back steamed in batons flailing.
I was in the cafe train station the morning after the match, a Spurs fan, with no footwear on, walked up to three Argentinian fans and said 'do ya wanna kick off'? They declined his kind offer. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Everton have sent their support to their former striker Kevin Campbell after it emerged the 54-year-old is seriously ill in hospital. It is understood Campbell, who became a fan favourite playing for the club between 1999 and 2005 having won a league title with Arsenal, became unwell last week. Campbell also played for clubs including Nottingham Forest and West Brom. “We have been made aware our former striker Kevin Campbell is currently very unwell,” Everton said in a statement posted on X. “Not just a great footballer but an incredible person, Kevin is, and always has been, a fighter and we wish him and his family well at this challenging time. Sending all our love.”
