Exactly mate, KLD could have seen the reports on Sky etc and made another push for him. If it’s Stills preference to go to Lens now then there’s nowt we can do. Personally don’t blame someone for wanting to manage a team playing in Europe and also in the country already resides.
And you know their exact roles, how may they have, are they over worked in comparison to Dodds? A coach at Bayern has **** all to do with Dodds remit at Sunderland and not one of them have had the run in charge like he has. What an absolute appalling comparison but you still can’t see it.
Interesting write up on Roseniors tactics while at Hull for anyone interested https://totalfootballanalysis.com/h...l-city-tactical-analysis-tactics-scout-report
Just to add to this, Still would've been more of a continuation of the defensive, out of possession focused style we've played since Mowbray left. Rosenior looks to dominate possession, like Martin and Maresca, which leads to being good defensively as you can't concede if you have the ball. If you don't like possession football that is fine but don't make stupid statements which are just so uneducated. Makes me cringe sometimes how uneducated this fanbase is.
I’m not sure about a different direction, it’s the model. We are also surmising that he does want to keep them, I thought that was an obstacle that had been cleared and Still did a U turn. But there are plenty of managers who I think how the **** did he get a job again. It’s a very incestuous business
In fairness though we are a million miles away from those clubs in terms of existing set up and proven coaches and methods for a new man to work alongside.
I know how many they have, yes. Their role, previous experience, and remit varies from club to club and person to person. It remains a fact that retaining some members of coaching staff when a new head coach comes in is nothing unusual.
‘For us as a staff to be ‘pragmatic’ is not to veer from what we believe in — attacking football — but to give a clear structure and plan, and have some strong non-negotiables: winning physical duels, running at a higher intensity than the opposition, being organised from set plays and when we are without the ball’ Rosenior He wants to play attacking football. There’s a load of nonsense spoken. The other thing I know about him is he’s maybe quite Mowbray like in that he spends a lot of time with people 1-1 and uses psychological approaches like NLP to get the best out of the individuals within the unit. He’s a highly rated coach.
Sorry mate but I'm sick to death of hearing about 'the model' and how it has no flex, etc ... ... the owner doesn't want to spend years in this league pumping in his own money. He's shown with Beale, etc, that he can be decisive when he needs to be. If a very good manager says he'll come providing the coaches go, they'll go imo.
Not really, our set up is the same as most top European sides. The members of staff just aren't all as good, currently.
Aye, he’s not a rumour peddler, he only seems to comment when it’s people he knows/works with. As you say, would be incredibly strange for him to make it up.
I didn't realise it was the end of the transfer window. Be honest, you're ****ing delighted that we didn't get our man, because it gives you a stick to beat the club with.
And is it the same number as Sunderland? Specifically since Beale left? Yes of course some members of staff being retained isn’t unusual, but promoting one for such a long period and watch him struggle, certainly will be at the “top European clubs”.
They had a good defensive record because they sat back all game and played on the counter. Look at their home record, more draws than any other team in the league and less wins than us. Lost count of how many 0-0s and 1-1s they had it seemed to be every week at one stage of the season. Works away from home but when you’re at home and you’re meant to take the game to your opponent they fell flat time and time again. Edit - sorry I should’ve said they lost less games rather than having a good defensive record because they still conceded a fair amount of goals.
Just had a read through l'Équipe, before I start thinking about work, and there's nothing about Still, Lens or his agent ... ... I wonder how the supporters are feeling about their club being placed in the hands of a 31yo who left Reims in difficult circumstances.
Which is what I mean, it’s his model and he can adjust/amend get rid as he sees fit. It’s always going to be a learning curve and in any walk of life you need to adapt. I’m not as certain as others that Dodds and Proctor should be near the front bench.
