he absolutely is, by a long way. But he will still report on direct information from an agent. He literally only said that Still is out of the race for the following reasons. If that came directly from stills agent, he wouldn’t need to double verify it. edit - can’t believe I managed to accidentally get the words will still into this
Is it not obvious that the athletic and sky sports source was from Stills camp? As most on here alluded to he was in agreement at the beginning of the week. The staffing and investment is him saving face as he’s gone to chase the money, Nixon alluded to it earlier in the day yesterday, all thought I have no doubt those were some initial concerns of his. The club had the right of reply imo, but I do agree with you this should have all been sorted weeks ago.
It's all part of it though ain't it. Not sorting things out sooner. Trying to be clever then it getting to a point where relationships break down. He seems to fall out with everyone and piss lots off. I don't mind it if you're great and the team is flying with progression. We are going backwards. Quickly.
With the euros starting and pre season to to be organised we really need an appointment this coming week. Give the new man time to have an input on the pre season plans and routines, get his message across to all the backroom staff so everyone is on the same page from day 1. There is also the small matter of Riggs contract and the transfer window opening that hopefully a new Head Coach will have input in
No it's not, he was right to act the way he did in all 3 situations. Criticising someone for correct decision making while things he does very badly are right there and not being spoken about is just stupid. My only criticism on the Pritchard situation is that he should've been out the door sooner.
yes as I’ve said. For me there’s no one singular thing which makes me think “Speakman out”. It’s the series of continuous and repeating patterns, that are now just too often and too repeating to be a coincidence. For me. I’m tired of defending the bloke. I’ve defended him consistently on here. I’ve always given benefit of the doubt. I’ve never really warmed to him as it is. I’m a management consultant and even I think he talks too much like a management consultant. So I am, unfairly or otherwise, done with him. I want him to leave.
For so many reasons it’ll be really interesting to see who it is we appoint, and the make up of the backroom staff. I think this will be the most conclusive evidence of what has really gone on, given the suggestions by some and counter arguments by others. On a slightly different note those with a bit of insider knowledge have kept me entertained sharing what they have heard etc, over the last few days, so I really hope they continue to keep doing just that. There is no need to stop posting because things didn’t quite align with what you had originally heard. @Magnus
I get Pritchard moving on, although still maintain he was our best no.10 when he played, it was the fact that Speakman came out in public the day before he went basically stating that they were doing everything they can to keep him, knowing full well he would be off, just for KS to look good. Imo.
I have quite clearly said I want Speakman out, I never disagreed with that. Just think we look stupid talking about things he actually did well when there's shocking things he's done which don't get mentioned at all.
Yep. The playbook. Same as others who left like Gooch etc. Really hard done by and you look at the club last year. Bunch of kids with no experience on the field and more importantly in the dressing room, around the AOL etc. Look how it ended for us. Getting whooped with no spine or experience to dig in. Always trying to be too clever he. Time to go.
Unfortunately every single club would've done similar. I disagree with it but it's a part of modern football.
my overwhelming thing with him is that even if all those decisions were correct, we have a trend of people leaving (or not joining) and having a dig at the club (either directly or thru the press). Now you could argue Speakman is just forthright with his views. But to me the pattern is just becoming too frequent, too consistent. I’m just getting a sense that Speakman is a piece of **** to do business with. it’s all just my opinion obviously. I just don’t want him at my club.
And is still here and, imo, stil will be when the season starts. I've got a bad feeling that it's going to be Dodds next season.
I’d have off loaded Pritch in summer. 1 in 4 performer, gobshite with a victim mentality and with poor relationships at other places and always injured. Not taking his side in this. Speakman’s relationships with head coaches other than his mate are definitely a worry.
It won't be, I don't even think Speakman has that thick of a skin. I can see Rosenior, his one assistant and Dodds though.
One thing I’ll add. It’s easy to sign 18-20 year olds when you’re a piece of **** to do business with. They’re desperate to step up into an environment others might not think they’re ready for. it’s less easy to sign players who aren’t so desperate. Like strikers who are in demand. this is why I want Speakman out. The head coach thing is almost a red herring. My problem with him is how he is continuously appearing difficult to do business with. In an industry where you need to be able to do good business
