What happened to Tierney for Arsenal? Was it injury issues or did his full back style not match with the “Pep style” that Arteta employs?
A mix of both in the end, I think. He's very much a winger (from his Celtic youth days) who converted to full back and his game is pace, power, tenacity. Not the best passer. And not reliable fitness-wise. I think he suffers a bit from the same problems Wilshere experienced where he actually has never been taught how to train without being at 110% and pushing himself too hard. And then he breaks down again. Went on loan to Real Sociedad this season and was starting early in the season, was then sidelined for weeks and weeks and got stuck on the bench when he came back.

He’s 40 now, surely that ship has sailed. I’ve said it before, it was madness to let him go at the time.
