Sky to me is the equivalent to Maggie Thatcher in politics.

I realise that Thatcher is probably the bees knees to some .....but never to me.

She cost me a lot of dosh in the early 80s with her anti-union stance.....her policies not only effected bad unions but good unions as well.....flooding the skilled trades with untrained personnel...who needed their nappies changing every five minutes.

PS.....I wrote the above on my samsung mobile....it wouldn't allow me to spell realize with a Z.

You do get the feeling a times that it wants to take over your life.....shades of 1984 big brother comes to mind.

This of course ps'd on my Acer table top.

We're being told that it is a dark day for America....that an ex-President.....and not yet authorised republican candidate for 2025....has been found guilty on all counts of paying hush money to a porn star for having had the use of her assets.......:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:.

I saw the verdict come in last night.

I don’t doubt for a minute doubt he’s guilty: he’s that sort of over-inflated egoist who thinks the rules don’t apply to him. Cohen is a liar but that’s exactly why Trump hired him: to lie in his behalf.

Legal opinion seems to be that Trump's legal team conducted a poor defence by trying to discredit the prosecution witnesses and even the prosecutors and the judge rather than deal with the legal principles and facts of the case. That comes from Trump: he’s always right so they must be proven wrong personally or to be liars.

Over here, politicians never comment on criminal cases to avoid undermining the judiciary. It’s shocking how many in the US are doing just that so as to be seen to support Trump. We imagine the USA to be the bastion of freedom and democracy. When you see their system close up, it’s otherwise, from the political appointment of Supreme Court judges to the undermining of the prosecution here.

If Trump has a a shred of decency: he’d stand down rather than sully the reputation of the USA and his party. Unfortunately, he doesn’t and that’s why he’s unfit to lead.

It also seems incredible that the American public would elect a man who within the space of a couple of months been found guilty both of property fraud and electoral fraud.

It’s especially astounding because Trump’s defence in the property & tax fraud case was that he didn’t know what was going on iand it was his underlings wot dun it. A man who didn’t understand how his own business was valued but its success is a major reason why he’s the man to run the country? How does that work then? This wasn’t subtle massaging of the figures either: in some cases the square footage was inflated or deflated by large percentages depending on whether they wanted the value up to raise loans or down to reduce taxation.

Finally, he’s whining that he can’t get a fair trial in NewYork because it’s a Democratic stronghold. As someone said, if you are worried about that, don’t commit a crime in Manhattan. But there was also a jury selection process that took several days in which his lawyers, along with the prosecution, could object to candidates after questioning. I think they started with a pool of well over a hundred people. On top of that. It’s still probably the case that if you’re poor and black, you struggle to get anything like a fair trial in southern states. Did he do anything about that when he was President? No. It’s all about him when it happens to him.

There are important lessons for us around the independence of the courts and integrity in our leaders in preference to charisma. On the latter point I give Boris Johnson as a very relevant failure of collective judgment.

Maybe send him to the moon for a trial (or even further).....because there ain't no one...no place...no country on Earth that doesn't know Trump is a lying two face Toad (no disrespect to Toad meant).

People where asked.....What would change your mind about voting for Trump....."I guess if he'd murdered somebody".....was the answer from his supporters.

Yet this man allowed his heavies to storm the Parliament of the USA....he should be already locked up for the rest of his life.

Will that offence come to trial when he is possibly the next President......bleddy hell Boris is as white as snow compared to this egoistic...moronic... numbkin.

PS.....Is that a knew word I've just invented....or should it be .....Numpkin ?.

Just imagine if Jude Bellingham had been our player and we had a 10% sell on clause in his contract.

He is being valued at £236 million....( £23.6m for nothing but getting his contract right ).

He is scoring an average of 0.77 goals per match.

I find it interesting about the Diane Abbott situation.

Starmer is concerned about her left wing politics and what she has been saying.

Diane Abbott's supporters ( mostly black ) are more inclined to say that there is a racial aspect to this issue of getting rid of the first black women MP......and of course she is a close buddy of Jeremy Corbyn who is a known racist...backing Arabs everytime against Jews.

Gets a bit confusing in the end.

She is a Corbynite for sure. She’s also unreliable in front of the press: you may remember she got into a right muddle with some statistics a while back. And then there’s the “only black people suffer discrimination” nonsense, especially as it’s primarily anti-semitism in disguise.

I watched her on the steps of Hackney Town Hall yesterday: she’s clearly in poor health: her hand could hardly hold the microphone. I admire her determination but I think a graceful retirement would have been a better option.

I get a little bit fed up with people of the Jewish faith claiming racism at every turn. There is no such thing as Jewland. It is a religion not a race so it is not racism. They also bleat too often about being picked on when all people are doing is pointing out a fault in their attitude to others. I haven't heard anyone in the Labour Party say that Diane Abbott is banned from anything. I actually think this is the lefty lot trying to stir up as much crap as they can to derail Stammer. Politicians of every colour seem to have factions who just want to turn into the Lemming Party at times.

Last day of May...and certainly no shorts on today......in the "warmth" of the greenhouse the temperature has reached a dizzy 52F......or in new money....11.111111111111111111111C.

Just dragged the garden waste bin out the front....Mrs Plym has excelled herself this week and filled it to overflowing....with the grass cuttings compressed and "sweating" down the bottom it weighs a ton.

Shall get myself a nice hot chocolate drink now and warm myself up.

    June tomorrow.....:emoticon-0120-doh:.....:emoticon-0121-angry.

Dislike of a religion is not racism it is just plain hate of somebody who thinks differently. There is no such place as Muslimland either.

Jewland is any territory occupied largely by Jewish people....so Jewland exists all over the world....ask the Jews who left Russia if they where persecuted and you would get a mouthful of abuse that they faced racism to the extreme....and dont dare ask if Jews in Nazi Germany faced racism....6 million of them met racism with there lives.

And that is why I feel that we need to start to strengthen our military strength again.....so I say yes to national service.....so to be prepared for the likes of Putins Russia who have always had racial tendencies against Slavic and Jewish people.

    Slavic countries such as..... Pole's, Czech's, Slovak's, Ukranian's, Bulgarian's, Croat's, Macedonian's, Montenegrin's, Serb's & Slovene's....and other as well.

We had an agreement with a slavic country......Poland that brought us to declare war on Nazi Germany

So please sensible to say such things as...."There is no such thing as Jewland"....makes a mockery of WW2....Ukraine war and what is happening in Israel/Gaza.

notDistant....as someone who uses the Ukrainian flag as his avatar...what are your views regarding the Israeli/Gaza war ....pushing Putins "special military operation" further back along the BBC's headline bar ?.....can Putin be the only winner when that happens....and he then can continue under the radar so to speak ?

Joe Biden is say that any armament we send you must only be used to defend your territory ...not to be aggressive into Russian territory...is that not similar to tying one arm behind your back for Ukranians as they fight for their very existence

Europe has said... I believe recently... that they do not demand that same restriction in the use of their armament's

BUT....isn't the really effective heavy weaponry supplied by the States.......and isn't Putin now using the long term bombing of key situations in the Ukraine to his benefit....because of Ukraine being light on defensive weaponry......and isn't the Israeli/Gaza war taking the gaze away from what for Europe and the rest of the "free" world is the main threat to world peace.

I'm not saying that the situation in the middle east isn't serious and important....we all surely realize that the Arab v Jew thing will be with us for all time.

Does it not go back to Abraham's sons Isaac and Ishmael ?

Umm I think the original Hamas terrorist attacks were possibly the worst we’ve ever seen in terms of their brutality. 9-11 killed a lot more but it didn’t have the sadistic blood lust.

I do believe that Hamas are cowards and hide where they’re protected by civilians, hospitals and UN bases. I do believe the “information” that comes out of Gaza from medics and the UN is unreliable: they’ve been living cheek by jowl with Hamas for years and they’re either sympathisers or have been intimidated.

I do believe Israel has every right to retaliate and given what happened, retaliate very severely.

Clearly though killing innocent men, women and children is what we’re supposed to be trying to prevent, not actively do. It’s difficult for Israel because of the way Hamas skulk in the shadows but yes I do think Israel has gone too far. If they want to obliterate Hamas, perhaps they have to put their own soldiers at risk and fight at close quarters rather than bombing jam-packed built-up areas no matter how accurate the bombs and missiles are.

Other than that, I don’t know what the answer is. Clearly, Gaza has taken attention away from Ukraine and it’s a worry that Trump will be made a lap-dog by Putin if he gets back into power. Trump’s a contrarian: he thinks he looks smart if he does things that everyone else wouldn’t touch with a barge pole and that makes him an easy target for Putin.

We have little involvement in supplying arms: less than 1% of Israel’s arsenal I believe and most of that equipment is suitable for policing rather than war fighting. Therefore we have little direct influence.

I believe Biden has very recently said American weapons can be used to strike targets in Russia but only clearly identified military targets which are active in attacking Ukraine. About time too.

My post has absolutely nothing to do with WW2. Judahism is a religion as is the Muslim faith. Neither of them is a country. Jewland does not exist wherever they live either. If you have somebody of the Jewish faith who was born in Holland then they are Dutch, born in England then they are English and it is solely their religion that is Jewish. Hitler resolved to rid himself and the world of people of the Jewish faith that is religious persecution not racism although the results of it may be pretty much the same. Israel did not exist as a Country then. There again he also wanted to rid the planet of Gypsy people and the like so it wasn't just confined to the one faith. Judahism does not own the entire world and I repeat that there is no such country or state called Jewland. You need to read the small print on the National Service proposal because it aint going to increase our readiness for anything. It also aint going to happen either.

Israel was mentioned as a country in 1200 BC..... and before the time of Christ the country of Israel was scattered worldwide first by the Egptians then the Roman Empire.

After WW2 and the holocaust the state of Israel was reformed in 1948......so the Jewish people started to return from their worldwide situations and started to populate their original lands and where a united country once again......and I believe there is a population of just under 10 million people at present in Israel.

Hitler vowed to rid Germany/Europe of the Jewish race...now if that ain't racism what the hell is.....you just need to face up to the facts and admit that your wrong.

The Jewish nation existed worldwide because the circumstances forced upon them after being scattered to the ends of the known world at that time.

A Jew is a Jew first then Dutch.....A Jew is a Jew first then English.....I find that quite acceptable.....I am English first then British second......I was born in Devonport first then a Devonian second.

You lose a bit of an argument on me if you mention "Christ". You have to believe there is such a person or was firstly and I don't believe in any religious stuff. A load of claptrap in my world. If you believe the biblical stories it was the "Israelites" who walked out of Eygypt not the Jewites There may be a population of 10 million in Israel which makes 10 million Israelites not 10 million Jews. Some of the population are of other faiths and not of Judahism. That makes them an Israelite the same as all the rest but not Jewish. The argument of being this or that first or second doesn't wash. On a census form you are asked what your nationality is. A second question is possibly what religion you are or consider yourself to be. You therefore would describe yourself as English and then of the Jewish faith. I would also take issue with your statement that people started to return from their worldwide situation in 1948. The vast majority had never lived in Israel before so they were emigrating there not returning. You cannot return if you hadn't previously left.

"You cannot return if you hadn't previously left".......is not a legitimate statement is it....you can have generations between the act of leaving (or in this case being driven out) and returning.....just as the holocaust was a racially inflicted event on a religion and a nation....but if you believe all religions are claptrap then why are you bothered about trying to prove your point if you have no hope for the future....and you have the affront to call me a racist.

I have a hope for the future....I believe that this world and universe was created by a supreme being....and didn't just happen when two atoms bounced off each other and low and behold the wonders of the universe just came about ......man was made in the image of it's maker.....of course we're not making much of a fist of it.....and that is because we have been given free will to go our own way......some like Stalin, Hitler, Putin and many before and still to come have not done too good a job of it have they ?

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree over many things then won't we sensiblegreeny......I have a hope for the future ...and you seem to have nothing to look forward to at all....that's probably why your such an angry person....and that is the end of this conversation for me.....you can continue talking to yourself over this I'm finished.

The Post Office and Fujitsu Horizon scandal will be continuing for another five years.....they are set now to run it until 2030.

Now here is the tasty bit........."However... it was reported this week that Fujitsu has requested £1 billion of exrta public money from the Treasury as it struggles to develop an in-house system of sufficient quality"........(Daily Telegraph...1/6/2024 ).

Let us hope that the Post Office's new owner will sort it out without us the tax payers being screwed yet again by Fujitsu.
