    Oh ok. ;)

Considering he was taking the piss out of your stance, it's quite surprising you liked his posts, but hey ho you do you.

You accusing anyone else of being condescending is pot calling the kettle black lmao.

And it’s not mine, anyone’s else’s or society’s fault that you were unprepared to adopt a child and thought love would be enough. Do you also need the system to teach you to brush your teeth and wipe your arse after having a ****?

I think you both made fair points but there was a miscommunication over the wording, not the meaning, and it's caused friction.

My impression is that unless it's Monday to Friday before 5pm, social services are not interested. I'll probably upset the teacher contingent on here but there does actually seem to be too many teachers who are not very good and/or do the bare minimum- and I mean as regards the teaching requirements, not the extracurricular social work, pastoral care etc (which isn't their job). And before anyone says anything, you can only employ who applies and it's very difficult to dismiss(Sweeping statement: I expect it's a similar story across local government). And yes there are staff who max out the full sick pay but recover just before it drops to 50%. So her budget has been decimated covering long term sickness- for those who don't know, supply cover comes out of the existing budget so ultimately pupils don't get resources. The latest insult is the government awards £2.50/pupil for free meals , but the council charges £3/head. £20k deficit right there. Not enough special school places so children who need it get put in the mainstream with inadequacies of funding and staff.
Long story short, there is not enough provision to do the job at all, never mind well. She is in a heads group of whom roughly 20 have quit in the last year- morale is at the bottom.

I'm pretty sure I only come across that way to those who I feel have earned it. But anyway, you keep judging. I've learnt from my mistakes and educated myself to the point of making it my profession. Nobody's perfect, except you, apparently.

I'm pretty sure that you have a secure Attachment style, as if you hadn't, you may have been able to comprehend that those of us with an insecure Attachment style find 'introspection' extremely difficult, as we are likely to be unable to trust what we find, not without the support of a therapist anyway.
Also, it would incredible if anyone could be truly prepared for supporting a child with an Attachment injury AND neurodiversity, but like I said, it's not in your sphere of understanding, or ever likely to be.

You don’t know anything about me or what my attachment style is, mate. Stop with the psychoanalysis, it’s embarrassing. And I’m not about to spill my guts out about my personal life or mental health either to make a point. I don’t owe you or anyone else that.

Yes it does, by a very large amount, but if a child has needs, I need to meet them or I'm failing that child.

The problem isn't so much that there are more needs, it's that schools simply don't have the funding or resources to meet them. When I started teaching we had a teaching assistant in every classroom, minimum, most had two. Then it was one per year group. Then it was one per phase. Now it's only with EHCP children who cannot work independently. My school, and a few others I know about, have had a policy put in place whereby they do not replace support staff if they leave. Support staff are leaving at a higher rate than teachers are at present, yet the budget is getting smaller year on year. It isn't sustainable and something is going to go horribly wrong if they don't sort it soon.

Well by the sound of it a bit of 'introspection' may help.
The phrase 'give it but can't take it' springs to mind. **** phrase but it's right at your level.

Add into that 'standards' and 'self respect'.
I go for a walk most days to the Marina, across into Town and then back to my office via Porter street flats. All I see is people in jogging bottoms, leggings, hideous footwear such as crocs or those ugg slipper things, and equally scruffy upper wear, often covered in stains. People look like bloody tramps wherever you look!

When did we stop trying to turn ourselves out with some pride to pop into town? The only positive to take from it is that my kids will have a much easier path in life considering the state of the people they're up against for jobs.

And that isn't even the half of it when it comes to what goes into food production. Its sickening.

I love that 'don't psychoanalyse me' line. Classic way of sharing whilst saying you don't want to share.

Whenever we go out to eat you can guarantee there will be kids sat on ipads or phones at the table to 'keep them occupied'. Mind you most adults are at it too.

I just cant get my head around why you would give a kid a device when you're out for tea. We do little quizzes to keep them busy or chat to them about things. Not claiming to be a super parent but if we dont keep setting these examples to kids there will be no values left to maintain. My daughter is 13 now and she has a phone for safety going to and from secondary school. She gets 1 hour after school and then it is taken off her. I get called names for it but she will thank me one day.
