well I for one and sounds like one of the only ones is proud of how we are doing - we are in the Premier League, and so far there are 7 teams below us, and we've had some pretty tough games..... Yes there are areas for improvement, but come on, a draw against Villa - I think that's isn't a bad result...

Swansman i am with you. We should be proud of what we have done. with the limited budget we have. I am sure some of the idiots on here probably think we should be winning every home game by 2 or 3 goals. This is the PL and we are in there for the first time. we are growing everyweek. Before november if someone had said we would take points from liverpool and Villa i would have taken that.
At the start of the season if we said 13th place end of november. would anyone not have taken that. Some of our fans need to get real. If you dont like the way we play give your ticket to somone who is happy to watch the good football we play.

Just like to add. It was a very strange atmosphere yesterday. I am in the group that thinks yesterdays game should have been cancelled. a lot of players affected out there yesterday.

If we go down, we're not going bust and we'll retain the majority of the squad, I'm not unduly concerned at that prospect, especially as I don't see it happening. However, if we were, I'd rather we go down still within budget than if we'd overspent in the hope of staying up. Money doesn't always buy success. Don't get me wrong, I'll be gutted if, come May, we're back in the Championship, but I'm a realist (something you should appreciate Dai ;)) and I know it's not the end of the world.

It's worth a go, isn't it, this "reading other peoples posts" lark? I started a while back, and haven't looked back since!

Out of curiosity, Dai, what was funny about my post? I have a feeling it was simply that you didn't agree with it so decided to ignore it.

Although i am delighted and impressed with how well and how quickly we have fitted into the premiership i am a little concerned about the lack of firepower and i still think sinclair can be a tad to greedy and expressing these concerns does not make me an idiot , it is a forum after all and therefore all about opinion .I don agree with every opinion on here but everyone is entitled to have one

Whats your answer then , ,shall we just go for broke . over spend, and we all know the consequences of doing just that.If we go down we go down but we'll be stronger for it as a club and thats what matters .where's the likes of Hull now for example.(there's a tenuous link to our past there),We can all see our short comings as I'm sure the management can but until what ever January brings us BR's pretty much commited with the squad he's got.

bony...grow up son and stop being childish, if you think we are ok as we are then thats fine by me, i happen to think we are to weak and not going forward enough to even think about scoring goals.......pretty entertaining football it is even if we are going backwards for most of the game and that my friend is a huge problem.....

The last thing we should do is break the bank, but as long as areas are strengthened thats the important thing and we dont have to break the bank to do it i trust BR to fetch in the right players i'm just saying with posible injuries and suspensions in the new year we will need cover and we do have a lack of firepower

You miss the point every time Dai. We are obviously too weak, but we are doing really well. To buy to stay up is a mistake made by other teams, who have struggled since doing it. We will carry on grinding out draws if we have to, and if we get relegated, so what!? Think about the bigger picture, which is we will be set up for years.
Don't call people 'son' you 'old codger'.

we are not doing really well we are doing the best we can with the players we have and if it was not for wigan and blackburn having a shocker then we would be down the bottom, you can bet your life that all the teams at the bottom will spend their way out of where they are in january.....and you say if we get relegated ..so what..<doh> well you say that to the masses that will be buying their ST early with the assumption we are going to stay up. so you see kid as it is we are in the relegation battle with 10 others and it will be the ones who sort themselves out in january that will survive and get millions for doing it

Two things spring to mind here. Some go on about the lack of firepower. Well against the teams around us WBA scored 3 Bolton scored 3, stoke scored 3, wolves scored 2. ( i know people will mention wigan and sunderland, but first 2 games and still adjusting) we have failed in recent games to score against Liverpool, Man utd and Villa. none of the clubs who will be in a relegation battle with usso againt the sides we hope to beat we have taken 11 points from 15. Not to shabby in my book. So 4 weeks ago who was worrying about the number of goals we were scoring. Probably no one. But now after 3 blamks and against top (ish) sides we all of a sudden have a problem.
The second is we are going to strengthen in january. we have been told that by both board and manager. yes we wont spend the money some will. but we will spend and will strengthen.
I just find it so frustrating that in our first year in the Pl sitting 14th. we can still not be happy. if someone had offered me these points at this time of year at the start of the season and to be sitting in 14th i would have bitten there hand off.
Superswan you say if it isnt for blackburn and wigan we would be in a relegation fight. but they are there and they are in the relegation zone. Dont get me wrong the bottom 10 12 clubs are all potentially relegation candidates. But i for one think we are doing well and am proud of where we are.

Happy? I'm chuffed as ****! We can always improve, and should, but we're doing about as well as could've been hoped for pre-season.
