https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2819...-search-raphael-wicky-switzerland-young-boys/ this report of us targeting another manager has said that KLD and sunderland's preferred choice right now is Will Still
A new name enters the fray. Won the league and cup last year and was then sacked while top of the league in March this season. Young Boys went on to win the league again this season.
I’m gonna say it, based off CV only I prefer Wicky to Still no idea how his teams play though. Would need to learn more about him
as far as i am aware, the club has never mentioned any 'candidates' or denied any of the links...anyone getting upset while stabbing at a keyboard/keypad is just going to give themselves an unwanted boost in blood pressure that will only increase if unwanted news comes out, take it from a heart attack sufferer that it is not worth it. wait for the club to actually say something, it makes summers so much better

And if Speakman doesn’t get Still or this Swiss fella over the line, does it put him on a sticky wicky!
From that and a couple of others, first impressions that he's not too different to Still. Club going for a particular type? Makes me think there could be something in this.
Will Still pushing a European place in a top 5 league isn’t impressive but winning a ****e league that’s rated below even the SPL with the best team in the country by a mile is
they’re both impressive but I like that Wicky has won it more than once and with different clubs. Which kinda removes the “best team by a mile” thing. I’ve never been that sold on Still mind. I just want the club to get our first choice. If that’s still, great
Much more dominant attacking stats than Still's but it's hard to compare as you expect Young Boys to dominate teams where as that's not the case for Reims in France. It's my main concern over Still, can he adapt to being in charge of a team regularly faced with low blocks and teams happy to cede possession. I'm not sure if part of Reims falling away was teams being more reserved in their approach against them due to their improved performances.
Kompany confirmed at Bayern. Will be interesting to see who Burnley aim for as they will have considerable pull due to their parachute payments.
Basel had won the league like 7-8 years in a row when he took over and won it, then he was sacked the following season after they were toppled by Young Boys who’ve won it every season since then i think - with him coming in for last season.
FC Zurich won it 21/22, with Young Boys in 3rd 16 points behind with David Wagner in charge. Wicky then won the double in 22/23 and was sacked while top in 23/24. I think I prefer Still but Wicky on the face of things would be a good appointment.
