I think it’s particularly apparent when we’re moving the ball upfield. He often slows down and recycles the ball instead of looking for the next progressive pass or trying to beat his man while he’s got momentum. On the final 3rd he’s a little more instinctive but the little bits I saw in the first half he definitely killed a few moves doing that.

We paid 26 million plus Coco for Gil, thanks and goodbye from me , I thought we had a star in the making but all he was good at was a Howard from Big Bang impersonator <steam>

Who was responsible for signing Bryan Gil? He’s turned out to be a truly awful signing

He must have been Fabio Paratici's first signing.

I think it's fair to say Paratici needed a bit of time to adapt to the PL in general and Spurs in particular, as most of the players we signed in his first 12 months have turned out to be either disastrous or quite underwhelming.

Romero and Sarr worked, but then again it can be argued they'd slot in to pretty much any system we've used in the last 15 or so years

The players brought in specifically for Nuno's system, such as Bryan and Emerson, are players who only work in very specific roles in very specific systems - and as that system was broken to begin with due to the lack of buy-in from the players, that's not a good start

Was an opportunity to potentially see some of the
academy talent at senior level (note : "potentially" ) .

    Can't live without it.

Spent half the day moaning about the weather.

Then it stopped raining for a bit, so I switched seamlessly to Spurs.

    Win win.

I hope both teams got well remunerated for the game as it's going to totally undermine us complaining about fixture pile-up for the next few years. I can see this being levelled at our managers if they deign to complain even once. I kind of agree with the negative press on this one, seems an insane decision to play it.

A pre-season game in England has been announced. Fairly unusual. Even more unusually, it's away.
Not far to travel though, as QPR will host our first team on July 20th at 3pm.
The season's due to start on the weekend of August 17th, so that's well in advance of it.

That's an odd one, especially with the first team involved.

Must be some special arrangement as we've purchased an ex player of theirs....:bandit:

That's a shame because I will be in France. Thanks for the heads up anyway DH, maybe King can take advantage.

    In addition to the Os,
I would like Hearts to be a regular summer fixture (to honour Dave Mackay) .

Wouldn't it be terrible if they watched Harry Kane miss a pen against them again?

Who play each other on June 28th, which probably highlights why we don't anymore.
The League of Ireland is a summer league now, since '03.
The standard's bloody terrible too, unfortunately.
