Aside from the works of Laurel & Hardy, I'd say Stir Crazy, Porridge (film) and Dumb and Dumber are my go-to flicks when I need a good laugh. Tell me about your favourites. I'm alway open to suggestions.
Can't beat a Carry On film. Abroad, Camping, At Your Convenience, Again Doctor and Cleo are my top five, though I do love most of them.
I recently rewatched Blazing Saddles and I must admit apart from one or two scenes it wasn't as funny as I remembered it in my misspent youth. Airplane and Naked Gun both still funny af.
Nuts in May. Pure perfection. Anyone who hasn't seen it must get a copy. Simply one of the funniest films ever made. Ray's face gets me every time.
Alison Steadman is so versatile, the distance in character, between Candice-Marie and the horrendous Beverley. I saw a performance of Abigail's Party at the Chichester festival theatre, Mary Tamm was v good, but noone could eclipse Alison.
