Joe Biden's US is sending weapons to Hamas via Egypt. The multis are happy the wars are dragging out, there's good money in them. A lot of countries are getting rid of old stock to Ukraine that would otherwise cost money to dispose of, and they're replacing it with higher spec home grown stuff.

I'm saying we the public should be putting pressure on our governments (but mainly the U.S.) to seek a negotiated settlement in both wars. On your first point, yeh other nations are providing some arms, but you and I know this war is over the minute the U.S. stops sending Ukraine military "aid". So I'll ask you again, what happens to Ukraine's negotiating position when that happens? All those civilian lives you speak of lost for a humbling surrender?

They wanted to fight. No one forced them to. You can't stop Putin without fighting, good luck making him sign anything he'll stick to. They tried that already with Minsk and he just took a few years to build up foreign currency reserves and prepare their army. FYI the Ukrainians battered them with barely any support. All they get is a drip-feed of stuff designed in the 1900s, not fancy new weapons like Taiwan. You and Mindoid are both ignoring the fact Ukraine would rather fight than be a russian puppet state.

The funny thing (and I use the term loosely) is that many of the western TV news channels and military analysts are saying much of the same. Territory is being lost and unlikely to be regained (unless we send even MORE arms) and Ukraine is running out of men. And many hundreds of thousands of men have fled the country. Not just this but many of Ukraine's military heirarchy are unhappy with Zelensky's strategical approach blaming him for some of the territory and men lost.

I agree on the last part. We're selling them a lot of obsolete stuff with a huge debt so they can fund us building shiny new ones for ourselves or the next war we want to provide aid to. Btw Toby this isn't about Ukraine or Israel, it's also about us perpetuating conflict around the world and the only result is hundreds of thousands of innocent lives being lost. You can include Saudi in that in the absolute hellfire we've been complicit in, in Yemen. Yes Ukraine would rather fight. So would the Palestinians. Both have an injustice committed upon them. But war aint going to give them what they want. They will both have to negotiate. What we ALL should be fcked off about is that there isn't an honest broker in the U.S. (or us as their lap dog) to make it happen.
