Just wondering how many of you have seen this video? It looks incredible. The areas that are designed for viewing whilst queuing up for food and drink is incredible, I cant believe this hasn't been implemented or thought of before. Imagine how good it would look around the whole stadium!
The stadium looks really premier league class... But is his the plans to be onstained to the original design.. because here is no way were gettng a new 1.. i like the soft memory touch of liebherr in the stand though
Something like this could be built by demolishing the Kingsland and the neighbouring 2 corner blocks. And building a steep imposing 3 tired stand, which emerges from new two tier corner stands. One reason for demolishion would be, that the pitch can be moved toward the Itchen; and the new stand could be built close to the adjusted pitch. (with the length of the Chapel and Northan reduced) for a cauldron like atmosphere.
Looks immense. Where did you get access to that SaintsNumber7? Would have thought these plans would be internal only (SFC & Council) at this stage. Lat
Sorry to piss on the parade but that was made on Google by a 14 year-old. The idea of an open concourse so you can queue and watch the game is genius however, must be some kind of safety regulations preventing it or it would have been implemented by now surely?
Wishful thinking on someone's part. Rather not encourage people to go for refreshments during a match anyway. I suspect that any extension/reconstruction is a long way down the road. Let's get to the PL first.
The open concourse like MKD is a superb idea. Can't see the video on here (my phone) for some reason. First stadium I went to with this idea was the Rocky's baseball stadium in Colorado. All the way round the concourse are catering outlets and merchandise shops. Brilliant idea.
the concourse is open at MK, but the bar is behind a screen and you cant take drinks beyond it. So its not like you can stand there with a pie and a pint and look at the pitch. Classic trip there though, the Wotsit chants at Dean Lewington were great!!
I wish the Dell wasn't replaced until now or until Liebherr came and took over. Then we wouldn't have such an Ikea stadium.
It's never been a secret FFD! Nicola Cortese persuaded Markus Leibherr to buy Southampton FC because of the facilities and infrastructure we already had in place, stadium, training ground, academy, fan base, staff structure etc. Please remind me, what do Portsmouth have to attract potential buyers?
Unfortunately as Kimish said this is the proverbial nine pound note. For a start any expansion would not include the Itchen due to all the stuff underneath. Our 14 year old friend has basically built a new stadium, even Nicola couldn't get that done in the off-season.
You're looking at that from the negative angle. If we didn't leave the dell we may have not gone into admin. There's loads of scenarios that could have played out.
