The previous diplomats will be the US, British, German and French. The ones who actually decide what will happen to Ukraine. The ones who underestimated Russia and thought they'd run out of ammo in 6 weeks so scuppered peace talks. A ceasefire for a start. Rich people can work out the borders, like they always do, during it. To be honest though, why would Russia talk after what I mentioned above? Maybe Ukraines only chance is to first do what Georgia did and bring in laws against foreign interference, having faced Putin themselves they're probably the ones to ask.
