the majority of teams have a wet set up, including Red Bull and Ferrari. You never know when the rain could come down.
lol To me, Alonso is decent in the wet but definitely not the best while Vettel is one of the best, up there with Hamilton.
I don't care who wins next season, so long as it's not so one sided. It's been a pretty dull season if you're not a Vettel fan. But if you are a Vettel fan then I guess it's been a cracker.
Pah, for not much more you can get an insane R32 GTR skyline. Had a look on autotrader, but i can't afford the insurance.
Ha! Yes indeed. Insurance is a problem for some. Lucky me eh? - There are some advantages to being a bit older… The potential problem with R32s (especially the GTR) is that they are more likely to have been messed about with (in spite of the bullet-proof engine). On the other hand, R33s tend to get less of the nutter treatment and it is therefore easier to find a standard one. On top of that, they are serious qualifiers as a family car, have even better engines through a few tiny tweaks, and are genuinely more refined (hence less likely to attract 'unwanted' attention). The R34 is better than both but is a throw-back to the R32. I have the best of both worlds with the NISMO 400R, but have recently ordered the new GTR as a Christmas present to myself. (No, I will not be parting with my beloved, now ultra-high mileage, perfect Miss Nizz!)
Wow, you must be doing well if you can afford a new GTR. Personally, i'd take the old R34 GTR. Problem is, they're still 20 grand minimum.
When I first heard that Nissan intended to drop the straight six in deference to the V8, I was gutted! The RB25DET of the GTS 25t is way under-tuned (far better than the R32 GTS's RB20DET) and is the source of most Japanese nut-case's dreams, often being tuned in excess of 800bhp but some go as far as 1200bhp!!! The RB26DETT fitted to both the R33 and R34 GTRs is bigger in the first place, although essentially a big-bore version of the 25. The thing about Nissan's straight six is that it was conceived for the Le Mans 24 heures and then adopted for the road car! Thus, it is totally 'over-engineered'; providing the basis for an ultra-reliable, ultra-strong road-car unit, capable of far more performance than standard. This is why stuff like Imprezas and Evos cannot come close for any part of the equation for reliabilty, longevity or performance; and need far more attention because they are much closer to bursting point when standard. This is part of the reason why I have no intention of parting with my absolutely standard 400R (which is mildly tuned by Nissan before leaving the factory; and which I've owned for 14 years, now with loads of miles). However, after much research and several drives (one around Nordschliefe), I'm quite impressed by the GTR's V8… (P.S. - Getting it in a special colour too!)
I know it's possible to take an RB26DETT engine up to 600+ BHP, without harming the car. My mate had a great idea, get an old R33 GTR, take out the engine, and put it in something really crappy, like a Ford Mondeo. I wouldn't mind a 600 BHP mondeo, just for a laugh.
Ha! My apologies. I rarely get the opportunity at the same time as having had my tongue loosened by some rather good wine… Now, what was this thread about? Oh yeah; race predictions and how 'our boys' might fair! Well, I guess it's end of season and it's all been done now; so I don't feel quite so selfish looking forward to Christmas!
No need for apologies, Cosi... You shouldn't be ashamed to talk about your toys at all. I quite enjoyed hearing about them.
