From the club statements I get the vibe that it was probably Poch's decision. "I have left Chelsea in a position to push on in the league and Europe" which is about right.
sure he won’t be short of offers. United, Bayern etc all looking no doubt. Plus Slot will be under pressure. and Howe is almost likely to be chopped.
Rumour has it that the Saudi investors aren't happy with the end of the season, they were meant to be our feeder club but possibly cost us Europe. Obviously I started the rumours.
I think man for man Chelsea have a comfortably better team than we (Newcastle do). I'd have thought, given how they ended the season and with Villa having to manage CL next year, they were likely to get around 4th spot next year under Poch. Now it very much depends who comes in. Good news for us of course. Well until they spend £500m on even better players through their FFP avoidance scheme.
Clearly, explaining why they finished sixth and not fourth. They were looking a decent side though, aside from the atitude, not sure if Poch ever dealt with that.
