I think you can see the strength when you notice the players who you haven't mentioned. Players like Gordon, Maddison, Barnes, Bowen, Sancho, Rashford, Solanke, Wilson and possibly more I'm not bringing to mind right now. My point isn't that they should go instead or that they are as good but that there was the best part of a decade when England couldn't find a single left-winger and half those players I've just mentioned would have got 50+ international caps as a result. The options for the forward 5-6 players that we have currently are by far the best there's been in my lifetime and whatever Southgate does he's going to get criticised for his calls. Shame the back-line isn't a patch on Ferdinand, Terry, Campbell, Ashley Cole (our right back options are good currently though) otherwise I think we'd be the best squad in the competition.
Yeah the other side of what I said above was that if Carragher was around today he'd be Englands number one CB. We even had a group of quality perma-crocks in defence back then who were probably better than our current crop (Ledley King, Woodgate, Wes Brown), it is what it is but I don't miss having to watch a "golden generation" with Nick Barmby on the wing.
Poch has left Chelsea. Weird decision, they were starting to look like a Poch team under him in the second half of the season. Seems weird to have hired what is a well known “project manager” only to part ways with him after one season.
Insane decision if it came from Chelsea like, Poch has really done a good job there. They look like they're turning a corner. If it came from Poch himself, probably got sick of their clueless owners.
That entire channel is, the Man U and City fan on there are ****ing rancid. Embarrassments to their clubs entire fanbases tbh
