Quite a few teams get a bit of luck at OT, but it often makes no difference to the game. It's only when it's tight that people notice it. Tbh we had the chances to win the game anyway. And ironically, if we had taken our chances and won the game, the penalty decision would just have been another one of those bits of luck that everyone forgot about within a day. At first glance that one looks close, but when it's properly slowed down he's a fair way offside.
And I also think (only seen the replay a handful of times) another United player got a touch on the ball as it was passed through. You can hardly see it in real time, but there's a little flick, by which point Hernandez is about a yard off. I don't think the linesman would've seen this though, so it would've looked a lot tighter than it was.
Didn't spot that myself, but only seen the replay once on MOTD. Just goes to show how tough a job the linos have - get a hundred difficult decisions like that correct and get no credit at all. Make one mistake and suddenly you're incompetent or bent. If players were judged to the same criteria only Xavi would ever get any credit!
Can't blame anyone for yesterdays result. United should have won it bar some brilliant defending, fine goalkeeping and poor finishing. Shouldn't have come down to a poor decision by the lino.
Not even Xavi would. Unless you've got a 100% pass, shot, shot conversion etc. rate then you've made a mistake at some point. So nobody would be exempt. P.S: Actually ignore this post, I forgot about Darron Gibson.
1st well done Lierpool for the draw against the A Rabs 2nd Liverpool **** as ever cant score goals and win the game
But we drew to them despite Newcastle having a man sent off so if your implying that Liverpool are useless because they could not beat Man City, does that also make United useless.
Should the linesman that gave Newcastle their penalty be given a medal for bravery? After all, we all know that you need nerves of steel just to correctly give the visiting team a penalty at OT. I would imagine that to give such a poor decision in favour of the visiting team would require a guarantee of immunity from God Almighty himself
