Will Ferrel the next celebrity to invest in UK football. Unlike the Wrexham duo, he's trying to short cut the process and splashed the cash in Leeds. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ferrell-buys-large-stake-leeds-29116038
Goalless at Carrow Rd and so far at the Hawthorns. Carry on like this next week it’ll be 2 penalty shoot outs
Couldn't agree more. Personally I think it needs locking at and if there's a gulf between 4th and 5th then it's straight to a two leg affair between 3rd and 4th In truth, I don't like playoffs at all. It's supposed to be a league competition. However, I get that some like it and their reasons for doing so
I totally get it from the business perspective. It prolongs interest in the season for more clubs, which means better gate receipts overall for the lucky few, which, when we're looking at leagues 1 and 2 can make a massive difference for some clubs. However, in terms of sporting integrity you can't beat a simple 3 up, 3 down. Same with all the cup competitions, rather than the bloated, money grabbing league formats, going back to either 2 legs home and away or straight knock out is so much more exciting (with relays for any draws). But there we go, it is what it is and even we, ourselves have benefitted and suffered as a result of the playoffs in the past, and we can't deny we got excited by it at the time. Am I right in thinking that in the English Egg juggling league the 2 teams that finish top of the table playoff against each other to see who the champion is??? If so, that just blows my mind... You can finish top of the table by a country mile and still not be the champion....
