Alternative view: rock and roll's future; the Boss; 50 years of incredible live performances. This Wednesday - Sunderland Stadium of Light. Can't wait.
Every song the Foo Fighters have ever done. Every bastard sounds exactly the same and it’s ****, just pure ****.
Probably the scars of working in ski resorts early 2000's when EVERY band did covers of DLBIA / Yellow and ****ing How You Remind Me.
Going to see them next month. Quite like them. Songs for the deaf with QOTSA is the best thing Grohl has ever been involved with though. Might possibly get to see him make an appearance for a few songs at download.
It’s great isn’t it that we have different tastes, likes and dislikes in music, as it would be a bloody boring world if we all liked the same thing. Though I am sure someone will be along soon to tell me I’m wrong. P. S. I like most of the songs mentioned so far though not really into metal myself - Bowie rules!
I’m going to throw another one out there. Sleep Token. They’re alright but massively overhyped imo. Their arena tour was harder to get tickets for and sold out faster than AC/DC only 2 uk shows in 8 years. Mental.
strange thing i've always found with springsteen - not keen on his performances but liked other people doing some of his songs. would cite these: because the night - patti smith blinded by the light - manfred mann's earth band fire - robert gordon dancing in the dark - big daddy (complete with "moody river" piano motif) that's enough for qed. not sure many of them qualify as "rock" though, but i don't think clapton's wonderful tonight, as mentioned earlier on the thread, is rock.
don't like coldplay, but also wouldn't label them as rock. i've got something like 35,000 tracks on cd and vinyl. some are repeats. with that many, and at least 80% of them on my phone, i don't get too many repeats of any of them.
Any stadium rock type band...Areosmith and Kiss for example.....Load of pretentious, over rated over the top t-shirt selling old geezers who should have jacked it in years before. edit...Black Sabbath, utter pile of excrement...
Smoke On The Water - ****e and probably got a lot of popularity because the intro is easy for spotty teenagers to play on their first electric guitar (I refuse to confirm or deny any past playing of that intro, or spottiness).
