Yesterday I sat with my Bristol City supporting friends having spent the weekend staying with them and I have to say it was a sobering experience. Having talked about the brilliant passing game we play and the flare of individual players in our side you can imagine just how much mocking I had to take throughout the second half and after the game and it it cost me an absolute fortune in the pub afterwards. I had foolishly agreed that if we won I would not have to buy a drink in the pub that night whereas if they won all the drinks were on me and I am now seriously out of pocket. It is quite clear that Bristol City were the much better team yesterday and that like all Championship sides they knew that if they could stop us playing our passing game we had nothing else to offer. Yesterday's performance was also disappointing in that I cannot remember a game when every player was so disinterested. I just cannot pick out a single player for any sort of praise or credit. Were we complacent? Did the loss of Chaplow disrupt the side? Did we think it was going to be a walkover? Were the tactics all wrong? The answer to every question I think is yes. So the question for Nigel is what are you going to do about? A display like yesterday's against our dear but highly sensitive neighbours at the end of the A2030 would just be intolerable. Can he instill a bit of steel into our players' so that they at least put up a fight against Hull and then PFC or will they just roll over and die again?
They had a bad game it happens and to be honest I don't give a s**t about it at the moment. I'm still in complete shock about the death of Gary Speed
Absolutely agree. This is a tragic event for the family who I am sure everyone is thinking of at this sad and tragic time.
Apparently one of our coach's has resigned and joined Brighton. David burke who we brought from Man City.
In the paper I read, don't know if it's true or just ****e paper talk yet tho. That's why I haven't made a thread yet.
David Burke is also a complete and utter scumbag. I was suprised we employed him in the first place! I doubt he'll be at Brighton for more than a year or two.
Blimey Godders, don't slit your wrists just yet mate !! You're just hacked off cos you're out of pocket I was also at the game and we were just beaten by the better team on the day, City are in a false position and will have a top half finish no doubt. We're not going to win every game and it's good we have a chance to put things right so soon on Tues against Hull COYS
One swallow does not a summer make. And let's not throw the baby out with bath water. Just for the moment I will file that under no action required. Blue pencil and you know the rest.
Was at the game and do agree it was a very poor display with no positives to take from it either. But hey we've suffered a loss, there will be others but we move on. How we react is the important thing, 3 points Tuesday and we're back on track.
I'm sure NA will look at this game and see if he can learn anything, but I don't think one defeat means a major overhaul of the team and tactics. That's like using a cake recipe for two years with no problem and then changing it just because one batch fails.
For the first time in as long as I can remember, I really wasn't too upset by a defeat. No idea why really.
Probably because you weren't out of pocket quite as much as me and nor did you have to defend the indefensible. Last time I saw us play that badly was when Lew Chatterley was our midfield maestro. Now there is a contradiction in terms - Chatterley and maestro. I'm in my dottage and I could have put in a better shift yesterday than most of our players.
