I keep seeing people saying that the atmosphere was flat for this game. I saw a lot of new faces around me, which can be damaging to it, but it felt fine to me. Did those also at the game feel it was bad? I heard it was quiet on the TV.
Was quiet on TV. You could tell the crowd were conflicted on getting behind the team to win the game.
It seemed dead on the TV and the commentators even commented on it a couple times, think the term “subdued” was used a bit. It probably didn’t help when the camera panned to a few lads doing the poznan either
It did as soon as it became clear that the team were to their credit having a right old go at it. It quickly sunk in that we could genuinely win the game, at which point the conflict took hold as apparently numerous fans didn't want us to win.
