The other thing Acun said was about not having time space to bring players from the youth team unlike the previous owners
Sunderland has one of the youngest squads in the league. Their fans are quite annoyed that they lack an experienced midfielder and a goal-scoring striker. They’ve never replaced Stewart.
I wish Rosenior well (not at our expense obviously). If he replicates his approach here elsewhere in the Championship, then I think he’ll need to be at a club with a lot of resources to produce a team that can excel in that style of play.
But it's not on the cards. Sunderland is. Unless you've got a more intimate knowledge of Monkwearmouth than mine, of course.
He said it was easier to bring them through in L1 but the bridge between academy and first team at the top end of the championship was too great to expect that kind of regular pathway. Then he mentioned Maribor as a potential way of getting the first team experience to bridge the gap. Basically it's what's been said before. They want them playing first team football ASAP because 21's football is no comparison.
Seeing Liam’s statement just makes me even sadder he’s gone, I really really thought he would kick on next year, and I hate changing managers all the time. As everyone has said, a classy guy.
Not a chance, I absolutely murdered her, I’m hopeless with these things, but she’s a lot better for it, especially in this heat
I was on the High Road near what was then the Crest Motel. I did my O levels in1980 so was 16 then. The family then moved daarrrnnn saarrrff after my old man retired from the ferries.
My Mum and Dad moved to Ferriby after I’d left home, probably 81/82. They lived in a bungalow set down from the road about 100 yards from the Crest Motel.
