Personally I think Traore has won one 50:50 challenge for each of his 2 seasons and presumably is on a decent wage. Whereas I've always liked Doc and wonder whether his energy might be more appreciated by a new manager than by Liam.

I seem to remember Traore took a significant pay cut to join us, but could still be high as not sure what he was on in Turkey. Thought he looked decent last season but this season the amount of misplaced passes, that miss against Leeds, general poor play means I wouldn’t give him a new deal.

Docherty has been a fantastic servant for this club and I’ll be sad to see him go.

Tim Walter now 1/5 nailed on to be the next manager. Still surprised betting isn't suspended though, so you never know.

As others have mentioned, the player retained list has to be in by this Saturday so who made the call? If this Tim fella is involved, the deal to bring him in must have been on the cards several weeks ago. You don't make these sorts of decisions over a few days.

I still think it’ll be announced just before the acun show tonight or even at the evening. I think this then changes the mood of the supporters or questions that might be asked…..possibly

You'd have to think so, otherwise it's going to be a really weird and awkward event.

The new manager will appear from behind a curtain once Acun has given it the big 'let's make Hull City great again' to roars of approval.

'I can now tell you that after careful consideration, and a couple of crap appointments in the past, we have decided the best person to take this beautiful club forward is a man with vast experience managing in the Championship. Please give a big Yorkshire welcome to Mr Neil Warnock.'

    Start the car!

I think there are some creeping questions to be asked of Acun, but they can only be answered by what he does over the next few seasons, not what he says.

For example, when it comes to sacking Rosenior you can say 'fine, he wants the football to be exciting', but you could also argue that it raises some red flags in terms of him seeing the club as his own personal play thing. What happens if things don't pan out with Walter? What happens if he gets bored of Hull City? How he approaches the outcomes of next season and beyond – good or bad – is going to be important for both him and how he's viewed by fans.

He also said quite a few things in the interview with Radio Humberside that had they come out of Ehab's mouth instead would have had the fanbase in uproar. It's extremely difficult communicating properly in a second language, so you could put it down to that, but I think it's also understandable for anyone to have creeping doubts because of previous 'I can do what I want' attitudes that defined the Allam era. He needs to show that he's also not above criticism, and if needed, admit he can make mistakes. I don't think he's done that yet.

I think the they (Acun, Tan, Farnborough, chief scout etc)along with Rosenior and now probably Daws,) will have been discussing who to keep who to let go, for weeks!!! It hasn't somehow come out of nowhere! Possibly Walter has been involved in discussions earlier, maybe not. No big deal, it's not suddenly cropped up

Wow. Wipping up drama. Disagree. Of course not beyond question but come on. Certainly doesn't deserve to be even mentioned in the same breath as Enob.

I’ve become more sceptical in recent weeks even prior to Rosenior’s departure. I’d be interested to see how tonight goes.

At the same time I don’t think it’s fair lumping him with previous lot at this time. It feels like trying to get ahead of the curve and be “I told you so” if it does turn out to be true. I agree there’s a few red flags however.

I’m just saying his actions going forward are more important than what he says in interviews and events like tonight.

It’s difficult to deny that if there was an owner at another club that had hired his mate as manager, sacked him, then sacked the replacement that had turned it around, publicly stated he wanted to control transfers, and told fans they should always support him, you’d probably be starting to question them at least a little.

Hopefully Acun understands that and we see what he’s saying, rather than just being told it.

Absolutely not trying to get ahead of anything, just trying to highlight how questionable some bits could be framed and that his actions need to speak louder than his words now.

Acun's very good PR so far has given him a lot of credit with the fanbase

Something the Allams never seemed to understand

This is true. Still needs to back it up though. This is very much his baby now, but at least he's fronting up to it

The last week has shown he can get ahead of the narrative. He’s quickly flipped it from a questionable sacking to “I want attacking football”

However, PR can only buy so much. I know I’m not the only one that’s gone from purely positive about the bloke to sceptical. If this appointment ends up being a Eustace/Rooney situation then it could get sour

Or even a Mowbray/Beale situation. Doesn't have to end in relegation for it to be a poor decision.
