Agreed. But more total game time over the season means more time afforded to make sure everyone gets at least some minutes to stay sharp, and that should include the young players if we’re looking to integrate them and have them progress in any way.
Alan Nixon, who’s usually more known for football league news (broke the Devine to Spurs move, think he was in on the Rodon deal too) reckons Napoli want Dragusin.
Given our pretty dire HG situation, if Skipp is happy to be a squad player it makes sense to keep him and sell Hojbjerg and Bissouma.
I wouldn’t sell both Hojbjerg and Bissouma. Keep one around as fringe player. There are so many players ahead of them that need to be gone that it will be hard to sell everyone in one window.
IIRC the word is that Hojbjerg's going no matter what, though we will accept a suitable offer for Bissouma if it comes
We need to raise some hefty funds for the position, I'd say circa £60-70m. I'd sell all three if the right offers come in tbh.
Oh no, don't invite the hell that is Fantasy Transfer Fees onto this board It's bad enough people are quoting £15m+ for Spence this summer as if it's not long been confirmed that Genoa can make his loan permanent for €10m, and it's increasingly obvious Ndombele's contract is getting paid off
Local Millwall journo reckons they’re going to sign Tanganga on a permanent deal. Very surprised if true, he’s a Prem calibre CB. Edit: Romano has also said the same. Good luck to him, he’ll be the best CB in the division without a doubt.
They've agreed a fee but other clubs are interested too, apparently. Might end up missing out on him to a Premier League club or one of those relegated this season. Maybe we could offer another loanee to replace him if he doesn't join them?
Romano says Emerson is one of many players expected to leave this summer. Bringing up the Milan link that was mentioned the other day as they want a new RB and he’s high on the list. Always had a soft spot for Milan…
OK, I'm going to say it.... I think we should cash in on Sonny this summer. I love the guy for what he's done for the club, and I know he's had off spells before, but the last 6 months he's been so poor, lacking in confidence and certainly not fulfilling the captain's role on the pitch. Unless Harry miraculously returns then I just don't see him being the player we need. I'll get my crash hat on ready for the abuse coming my way....
Careful. DH might see this. We do face a crucial choice this summer though. Iirc he's entering the final year of his contract, so we either sell or offer him a new one and he basically sees out his career at Spurs. While I do think he is now in steady decline, I don't think it's sensible to sell such a key player when so many other areas need more urgent attention. I also think our lack of a decent CF has had a hugely negative impact on him this year. His game was never as varied or consistent as Kane's and that was brutally exposed by playing either alongside a pigeon or leading the line himself.
