In a special bonus episode of the 1904 Club podcast, host Baz Cooper is joined by German football expert Matthew Karagich from the 2. Bundesliga show to discuss Tim Walter, the man expected to take over at the MKM Stadium in the next few days. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podca...anager-candidate/id1310519331?i=1000655542501
Maybe but I still wouldn’t describe that as toxic, just a few disgruntled fans (aswell as the board). Toxic for me would be unrest in the dressing room, a few cliques etc and a lack of respect for the manager. Unless as alleged players going above Rosie is what tan classes as toxic.
Funny when he said that Walter's Hamburg had the exact same issue with beating compact defences that City have had. That clearly wasn't the answer Baz was looking for. It's another thing that people complain about at almost every club, and everyone thinks their club is unique in having these difficulties. Teams who sit back are going to be successful in doing it sometimes. That's why they do it.
"When the time came in January when we brought all these high-level players on loan, we wanted to see the football that we'd dreamed of and it took so long to happen. We lost too many points at home and then it became a problem, it became toxic. We needed to change the mentality of our players and of our coaching style. "We're just trying to keep everything preserved. This is a football club run by the chairman, we've done really good stuff and that's why our fans are supporting us Of course, we are open to criticism. We said we're going to communicate with our fans all along the way when the time comes. We will explain to our fans maybe one day what happened, but we're trying to create a better future for Hull City and the Hull City fans, so they should support us on this in my opinion."
And people thought the rumours me and Howden both heard independently of some players going to Tan to complain about the style of football was far-fetched lmao.
I was sceptical about the nature and severity of the complaints but I have to admit it is seemingly more likely and would explain Tan's toxic comments and why he would be reluctant to reveal the full story,
I didn't disbelieve it. But what part of that quote supports what you've said? I can't see any mention of discussions between players and the board. It reads to me as a justification for binning Rosenior.
If the owner is not happy with the style of player, many fans not happy, some players not happy it could be classed as toxic I think the reasons boil down to not enough attacking and too many poor results which are inter-related
I didn’t say it was proof of what me and Howden heard. Just implied that it wasn’t as far-fetched as some made out given Acun and Tan’s comments after sacking Rosenior.
I think it's probably the players having to go above LR to tan and everything around that....that's just my opinion though, or possibly the atmosphere?
Could easily have been Philogenes as well- his international career relies on him playing well - if he felt he wasn't best served by Rosieball then it's not inconceivable he might throw in his two penneth
